Apply In-Person
- Applicant can reach the Silk Mark Organisation of their respective state.
- Names and addresses of Silk Mark Organisations are Link
- In the Silk Mark Organisation of India page click on the name of the states to know their respective address.
- For Uttarakhand click on New Delhi for the contact address.
- Application form for registration can be downloaded online link
- Application form should be filled correctly mentioning all the details.
- Applicant has to fill “Silk mark user agreement” which can be obtained from the respective office or can be downloaded online Link
- The applicant must read all the details of the form and then fill it.
- Attach required documents as per "Required Documents" section mentioned on this page.
- Pay fees as mentioned in “Fees” section on this page.
- After all the verification, applicant will be authorised user of Silk Mark and can put Silk Mark on handloom products.

EligibilityEdit
Silk mark will be issued only on 100% pure silk goods. Thus, applicant should be marketing silk goods containing 100% pure silk.
FeesEdit
- For annual turnover up to Rs 50 lakh, Rs 11800 is to be paid.
- For annual turnover between Rs 50 to 100 lakhs, Rs 17,700 is to be paid
- For annual turnover of Rs 100 lakh and above, Rs 23,600 is to be paid.

InstructionsEdit
- The applicant has no right or claim over the Silk Mark and cannot permit any other person or third party to use the Silk Mark without the prior permission of the SMOI.
- “100% Pure silk” means any product woven with Pure silk in Warp and Weft in the base fabric not having any other fibre used for ornamental figuration as extra Warp or Weft during loom stage or after loom.
- Zari / Lurex used in the base fabric along with pure silk in Warp and / or Weft for ornamental purpose will also qualify for Silk Mark.
- The Silk Mark Labels should be preserved in safe custody and give an account of the number of Silk Mark labels already used and the balance left.
- Any loss or theft of Silk Mark Labels should immediately be brought to the notice of SMOI & complaint should be lodged to prevent and check its unauthorised use.
- A ledger indicating the usage and available stock of Silk Mark labels should be maintained.

Out of over five hundred different types of silk spinning worms, only four are commercially exploited for the production of natural silk, namely mulberry, tasar, eri, and muga. The Silk Mark labels are in the form of paper hangtags and sew-in labels. These are affixed only on pure silk products by the authorised users of Silk Mark.
