Procedure

Apply In-person

1. The Applicant should start by visiting a police station to report the loss/damage of the student pass.You are also to acquire a police abstract from the police authorities which is a prerequisite to making the application.
2. The applicant should also swear an affidavit of the circumstances surrounding the loss,theft, mutilation or damage. You are to attach this affidavit with your application.
3. The applicant shall need a National ID number,and other photocopies of supporting documents to complete this process.
4. The applicant will then need to pick a form from the directorate of citizenship and immigration control fill and attach all the photocopy of the supporting documents. visit their website on the following link Directorate of immigration
5. The applicant should fill all the details. You will then be asked to review the form and ascertain that the details therein are correct. If everything is okay then submit the same at the office of the directorate of citizenship and immigration control.
6. The applicant will be directed to the pay the required fees.
7. After submit the original receipts copy as proof of payment to immigration office.
8. Then take fingerprints, digital photo and signature to complete the process,the applicant must appear in-person for digital photo and biometrics capture at immigration office.
9. After lodging the application the Student pass will be ready for collection at the immigration office after 14 working days.
10. The applicant is required to bring proof of identification when collecting the student pass. The applicant shall be contacted through text and/or email when to collect his/her Student pass.

Note:photocopies may be required during the processing period. The applicant and/or the sponsor may also be called up for an interview during this time.

Required Documents

• One recent passport-sized photo should be attached on the application form
• Valid travel document (with a validity period of at least 6 months) should be in place
• A letter from the school stating that the applicant is currently a registered student (school card holders only)
• A Statutory Declaration signed by the holder or a police report (original copy) is required for replacement due to student pass loss
• Certificates showing your highest level of academic qualification
• Passport biodata page should be photocopied and attached on the application form
• Disembarkation/ Embarkation card should be attached on the application form
• The applicant's recent passport-sized, digital, colour photograph taken within the last three months.

Eligibility

• Any person who intends to Replace the Student Pass , are eligible to make this application.

Fees

Replacement Fees for lost Student pass:

• First loss the replacement fees for student pass is : $100 USD
• Second and subsequent losses  : $30

Replacement Fee for damaged Student pass or replacement due to change particulars/photographs

• The replace Fee for damaged student pass is : $60 USD
• The applicant needs also to pay the non-refundable of USD $30

Validity

• The Validity period is usually one year before renewal is done.

Need for the Document

• Students Pass (STP) holders who have lost,damaged or defaced Student Pass are required to apply for a replacement card in person within 7 days from the date of loss or date of damage or defacement. *Following are the procedures on how to replace a student pass.
• A visitor to Uganda must have a valid Visit Pass at all times during their stay.
