Procedure

1. To renew your Tea parker registration in Uganda, one has to make a formal application with the Uganda Tea Development Agency.
2. An application for renewal of tea parker registration shall be made in writing to the Uganda Tea Development Agency and shall be accompanied by the prescribed particulars , where no particulars have been prescribed.
3. Dully filled form should be accompanied by the required documents.
4. The Development agency shall ensure that sufficient document submitted by the applicant comply with good manufacturing practices and national standards on quality, food safety and hygiene.
5. The Agency shall also ensure that the before granting a renewal tea parker registration the factory is adhered to the prescribed design suitable for the manufacture of tea.
6. Before granting renewal of Tea parker registration, the Board shall checks that tea manufacturing licence—

   • is in the prescribed renewal form or, where no renewal form has been prescribed, the minister shall determine the renewal form and the conditions.
   • that the applicant has the adhered to the management capacity to carry on tea manufacturing business for which the registration is required;
   • that the applicant for renewal has the necessary e competent staff and management capacity to continue to carry on the business of tea management agent .

7. Once your renewal application is approved you will receive communication to proceed to pay the required registration fees and payment details.
8. The fee is payable only after the board has vetted and approved by the renewal request.
9. Proceed to make the payment for registration renewal . The amount of fees to be paid can be found under the "Fees" section of this page, the approval payment shall also be sent to your email address.
10. Once the proof of payment is verified a copy of the renewal tea parker registration shall be granted within 30 days after submitting the application and required documents.

Eligibility

• Any person or institution with a valid tea packer registration license.

Fees

• Registration Ugshs. 100,000
• The fee is payable only after the registration has been vetted and approved. Please do not apply a payment until you are requested to do so.

Validity

• The registration is valid for a period of one year.

Need for the Document

• The renewal of registration allows a person or institution to engage in tea packing business in Uganda.
• One cannot operate as a tea packer in Uganda unless they are registered by the Uganda tea development Agency (UTDA)

Information which might help

• The registration authority shall issue certificate of registration to applicants subject to such lawful conditions as the authority may determine.
• Every registration certificate shall specify the premises upon which the business specified in the certificate may be carried on.
• A certificate issued shall remain in force until the end of the year, unless earlier cancelled.
• There shall be fees payable for the issue of registration certificate . Such fees are as the licensing authority may prescribe.
• The total fees charged will depend on the turnover of the dealer and shall not overburden small scale dealers and the cumulative total of all levies and fees payable shall in any event not exceed ten per cent of the gate value of the agricultural or aquatic product.
