Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. The applicant who wishes to register with Uganda Peoples Defence Forces’Sacco (Wazalendo) can contact the Sacco at their offices or secretariat in Uganda.Or you can visit their website on the following Link WAZALENDO
2. Any UPDF officer who qualifies for Wazalendo Sacco Loan shall register with Wazalendo Sacco and may apply to the Sacco for registration for a Loan, and the Sacco, if satisfied that the applicant is eligible for registration, shall authorize the Sacco registrar to enter his or her name on the register.
3. An application for registration shall be in the prescribed form,you can download the application form using this link Application form and every application shall be accompanied by documentary proof of the qualifications of the applicant together with the prescribed fees.
4. The registrar shall not register the name of any Army officer or person whose name has been dismissed from the army on the grounds of misconduct on the part of that person without the army council making further inquiry satisfying itself that the individual should be registered.
5. After fulfilling, the conditions above proceed to pick and fill the Forms applying to register with Uganda Peoples’s Defence Forces Sacco Wazalendo.
6. Pay the prescribed fee as prescribed by the Sacco Administration.
7. Submit the dully filled in form attached with pay slip and other required documents as prescribed by the Sacco Administration.
8. Collect your registration certificate from the Sacco Administration where your application was submitted within two days from the date the application was received at Uganda People’s Defense Forces Sacco in case there is no rejection.
9. On the registration the Sacco registrar shall issue to the person registered, sealed with the seal of the Wazalendo Sacco.
10. The Sacco Administration may refuse to register the applicant who does not qualify to be registered by reason of not being Army officer of UPDF.
11. The Sacco Administration may reject the application, if it is of the opinion that the Army council may, after inquiry, cause to be removed from the Sacco register the name of any registered or provisionally registered person—
    • who is convicted by any court of law of a criminal offence involving moral turpitude;
    • who is found guilty of professional misconduct by the Army council;
    • Whose name has been removed from the Army register for reasons of suspension from the Army.

1. Application to register with Wazalendo SACCO can be done online through the wazalendo website link Wazalendo online platform.
2. Visit the online platform for registration with the Sacco.
3. On your dashboard click on the “Membersip and governance.

5. fill all the spaces provided till the end and submit.
6. you will be contacted by email or phone to pay for your registration and pick you certificate of registration at the same time.

• SACCO stands for Savings and Credit Cooperative which is a special type of co-operative offering financial services with major focus on mobilization of funds and provision of affordable credit to its members who are both the owners and users.

• The members Need this document in order to be considered for credit and as owners and users of the financial institution.

• Wazarendo Sacco is a ministry of defense and veteran Affairs (MODVA)and Uganda people’s Defense forces (UPDF)cooperative society that enables its members to come together and pool funds (savings) so that, they can access loans (credit) to engage in productive activities for improving their welfare.
• It was registered in September 2005 and has been the leading and exemplary Sacco in the country.
• The SACCO was registered and licensed by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives under the provisions of section 6(2) of the Cooperative Societies’ Act, Cap 122 of the laws of Uganda with a registration number 7419 on 22nd September 2005, The WSACCO was initially registered with upon thirty (30) pioneer members. The membership has since grown to 80,000 over the last 15 years making WSACCO the biggest SACCO in the country.
• Wazalendo currently has 19 branches across the country. These include; Jinja, Mbale, Moroto, Kotido, Kampala, Bombo, Kakiri, Entebbe, Singo, Kaweweta, Gulu, Achol-pii, Mbarara, Masaka, Muhooti, Arua, Masindi, Nakasongola and Mubende plus the 04 liaison offices as Mburamizi, Kabamba Cantonment, Moyo and Mogadishu.
• WSACCO has not only played a big role in transforming the lives of soldiers and their families but also contributed to the socio-economic development of the country through various ways.
