- To Register as Tour Operator, the applicant has to approach the UGANDA TOURISM BOARD link
- Choose a unique business name for the applicant’s tour operator company and register it with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB). This is the first step towards legalizing his/her business.
- Decide on the legal structure of his/her business, such as sole proprietorship, partnership, or limited liability company.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- They might conduct an inspection of the applicant’s facilities and services before granting the license.
- Upon completing, the officer will issue the license to the applicant.
- This entire process can be completed within 6 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit
The applicant is eligible to register as a tour operator in Uganda if the applicant meets the following requirements:
- The applicant must be a Ugandan citizen or a legal resident of Uganda.
- The applicant must have a valid business registration certificate from the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB).
- The applicant must have a minimum of UGX 250,000 (about US$600) in paid-up capital.
- The applicant must have a minimum of 5 employees.
- The applicant must have a tour operating license from the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).
FeesEdit
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
ValidityEdit
- The tour operating license is valid for 3 years. The applicant must renew his/her license every 3 years.
