Uganda - Obtain approval for Training Institutions Offering Animal Health Courses

Apply In-Person
- An institution desiring to offer courses of training leading to the award of animal health degree, diploma or certificate, or degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine shall after being registered by the relevant body, apply to the Uganda Veterinary Board for approval by submitting an application .
- This can be done by visiting the UVB Offices and obtaining an application For Approval for Training Institutions Offering Animal Health Courses – Form 38a to fill and submit
- The application form can also be down loaded from their link Uganda Veterinary board
- You will be required to pay the appropriate application fees together with the inspection fees and submit the payment receipt.
- The amount of fees to be paid can be found under the "Fees" section of this page or at UVB registration fees page. registration fees
- The Uganda Veterinary Board shall, on receipt of the application will carry out inspections of the institution and if satisfied that it conforms to set standards, will approve the institution for the courses proposed.
- This approval is usually for a period of five years.
- The Uganda Veterinary Board shall inspect approved training institutions from time to time. The Board shall, in every five years, inspect institutions for purposes of approval.
- The license may be cancelled at any time when the Board establishes a breach of any provisions of these Regulations.

- Academic and qualification certificate of veterinary specialist who will offers the courses
- Registration document from professional association of veterinary surgeon.
- Evidence of payment of prescribed fees
- Passport photo of applicant
- Signed photocopy of National Identity Card/Passport of applicant.
- Passport photo of supervising veterinary professional
- Signed photocopy of National Identity Card/Passport of supervising veterinary professional
- Proof of payment of Uganda Veterinary Bord inspection fee

- An animal health course or a veterinary medicine course shall only be offered in a registered institution or in a faculty of veterinary medicine.
- A person or institution is not allowed to offer training in Animal Health or Veterinary Medicine unless they are registered by the Uganda Veterinary Board.
- An institution or person is to offer the training courses in Animal Health or Veterinary Medicine using the curriculum approved by the Uganda Veterinary Board.
