Uganda - Obtain License for Vehicle or Vessel Conveying Transit Goods

ProcedureEdit
- An application for a License for Vehicle/Vessel Conveying Transit Goods shall be made to the Uganda Revenue Authority in the form C 39 prescribed by the Customs Management Act law as set by the Ordinance.
- The Licensing authority may deem necessary to inspect the transit goods to verify the relevancy and compliance with the set Customs management of Entry and standards of the Authority.
- The Authority shall not issue a License for Vehicle/Vessel Conveying Transit Goods referred to in custom management Act unless the applicant is done with lodging in Import/export entries and other clearances which are a legal declaration to Customs under the East African Community Customs Management Act, 2004. On addition to stating all the commodities to be cleared in respect of the License.
- No clearance should be done unless they are licensed by the Uganda Revenue Authority in the form prescribed in the Ordinance.
- Pay relevant fees, depending on the requirements from of Customs clearance of goods and attach a copy of the pay slip from the Bank on the application.
- Submit the application along with all required documents, a Customs management Act of Entry duly completed and signed by a Customs Agent. It is currently captured in the DTI Center (Direct Trader Input terminal) and details are obtained from the documents supplied by the applicant.
- This is done through Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA World) which is linked to the main URA server for instant data transfer from a remote DTI Centre
- Once approved by the Uganda Revenue Authority a License for Vehicle/Vessel Conveying Transit Goods shall be issued to the applicant.
