Uganda - Obtain Coffee Quality Assurance Certificate

ProcedureEdit

  1. Coffee Quality Assurance certificate can be obtained from Uganda coffee Development Authority as required by UCDA statute.
  2. Fill up the application form 6 as prescribed by the Uganda Coffee Development Authority.
  3. Any person wishing to transport coffee for export is required to obtain a coffee quality assurance certificate from Uganda Coffee Development Authority under the following conditions:
    • The coffee to be exported has not been previously inspected and quality analyzed.
    • Inspection and quality analysis had been carried out and the defects pointed out have duly been rectified
  4. After filling the form proceed to pay the prescribed fee if any.
  5. Submit the dully filled in form attached with pay slip to the coffee quality control Officer in charge of the Quality control.
  6. If the Coffee Quality assurance control officer have successfully verified and analyzed the coffee and all requirements have been fulfilled,coffee quality certificate will be issued from Uganda coffee Development Authority where your application was submitted within 1 day from the date the application was received at the Authority in case there is no rejection.

  • Note: In practice, the Forms 7 and 8 are merged to ease applicability.
  • The coffee is transported with both certificates that is, the Quality Certificate has part for the Transport Permit.
  • The details buyer,
  • Details of container/wagon,
  • Details of marks, and seal.
  • The exporter must be registered for that year and the contract registered with the Authority.
  • Details stating the grade of the coffee,
  • Details of the price,
  • Details of the buyers identification,
  • Details of the destination and the shipping details.

EligibilityEdit

Any individual or Company interested in Transporting coffee for export can be eligible for coffee quality assurance certificate provided they meet the required condition of Uganda Coffee development Authority.


FeesEdit

  • The certificate fees Less of 1 % of the exported quantity/consignment charged every month.
