ProcedureEdit

  1. Visit your veterinary officer in the Department Animal resource at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to obtain a health certificate and veterinary statements before 10 days of your animal’s export.
  2. Obtain the application form V for the animals you wish to export from the Ministry of Agriculture.
  3. Follow the instructions provided in the application forms to ensure the animal meets the requirements of exportation and obtain all the supporting documents for the application.
  4. Fill the application form correctly and attach all the requirements
  5. Send your complete application to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries
  6. The Department of Livestock and Entomology will verify your application and respond to you within the same day of receiving your application through the address you issued in your application. The department may require more details pertaining your application before issuing the permit.

NOTE:

  • Make sure that your contact number or email address is shown on the application form
  • Export permits will be valid for 14 days marked from the date of the veterinary certificate.
  • Animals exported without the proper documentation will be immediately returned to the point of origin.
  • All the original documents must be provided on exit.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Applicant should prove that he or she has resources and experience to engage satisfactorily in the business of a cattle trade.
  • Filled application form endorsed by the area of operation District Veterinary Officer.
  • Proof that the applicant has never been convicted of an offense under the Cattle Traders Act and the Animal Diseases Act.

InstructionsEdit

All animals to be exported must be accompanied by the following:

  • Copy of their Export permit;
  • Original health certificate (issued within the 10 days prior to animal's departure) which includes the identity, contact information, and signature of the issuing veterinarian;
  • A properly endorsed CITES document (only required for an animal of an endangered species).
  • Animals Departing without the proper documentation will be immediately returned to the point of origin.
