Procedure

Apply online through Digilocker

1. User shall use the following Link
2. In the given page, please click on the “Login / Register” button provided on the top right corner of the screen to reach the “Login or Create Account” page.
3. Enter your registered mobile number at the prompts as applicable and click on the “Continue” button to reach the “Verify OTP” screen.
4. Please enter the OTP at the prompt as appropriate to complete the OTP authentication process and click on the “Verify” button.
5. On successful verification, the dashboard page will be provided.
6. The page will display documents already issued under the “Your issued documents” section.
7. Please select the Marriage certificate document type if issued already and it is listed to reach the corresponding page.
8. Please follow the page prompts as appropriate and follow the page requisite to download the marriage certificate.
9. If not displayed under the “Your issued documents” section, then click on the “Drive” option to reach the drive page with used space information.
10. Ih the citizen already saved his or her document in the drive, please browse through the page for the document type to download.
11. If not saved in Disk, then click on the “Search” or “Search Documents” option or enter the certificate type in the “Search for documents” prompt and click on the search icon.
12. In the resulting page, please look for the “States” section and click your respective state as applicable.
13. In the given state centric page, please click on the certificate type as applicable.
14. The resulting page will display the certificate or the system will prompt the user to enter required details. #Please follow the page prompts as appropriate and follow the page requisite to download the certificate.

Apply in Person

1. The applicant shall visit the respective Sub Registrar Office (SRO) where the marriage was already registered.
2. Use the following link. Please complete the prompts as appropriate to get the contact details.
3. The applicant shall use the contact information to find the appropriate Sub-Registrar office.
4. Go to the office, Speak to the counter staff about the requirement.
5. The staff will provide the details to apply and the exact office or section to process.
6. If the process can be completed in the sub registrar office, then meet the operator at the designated counter.
7. If the application should be made at a different office, please visit the respective office as advised to apply.
8. Once you arrive at the counter, ask the counter staff to issue the application form or write on a sheet of A4 white paper.
9. The applicant shall submit the application and provide the required details as demanded for the process.
10. Once the details are provided, remit necessary payment if any as appropriate.
11. The authorities will make entries about the request and provide the acknowledgement for the application submitted.
12. Please keep the acknowledgement provided for future reference.
13. The physical certified copy of marriage certificate will be issued as advised.
14. In most of the centers, the operator will process the request using the computer to give the printout then and there as per the timeline they mention.

Apply in person through MeeSeva

1. In order to obtain a copy of the marriage certificate through MeeSeva, the applicant has to visit the respective Meeseva centre in person.

3. In the given page, please click on the “MeeSeva Centres” menu and choose the “Authorized Service Provider” option for a new page with agents list. Please click on the number against the district name to get a list of contact details.
4. Identify the nearest centre. Go there personally with the Aadhar card along with the registered phone number.
5. The applicants shall make a request for the service. The operator will guide the applicant.
6. If the service is available, the operator will accept your service request.
7. The operator will guide the applicant.
8. It is advised to take the documents in original to the centre for scanning purposes.
9. The operator will process the request online.
10. The system will fetch the marriage certificate. The operator shall give a printed copy or soft copy as per available resources.
11. The applicant shall pay as advised by the operator if any.
