Step 1 : First one has to make sure that all the required documents are in hand to apply online. If you would like to know about the documents that are required for this procedure, please visit the following link : Required Documents to Register as an Exporter
Step 2 : To register as an exporter online, the applicant has to visit the following link: Apply Online
Step 3 : In the given page, please hit “Apply for IEC” button which is highlighted in “GREEN” in the image below under “Register for your IEC” on the right part of the screen to get pop-up.

Step 4 : Please select the “LOGIN” section which is highlighted in “RED” in the image below to login using your credentials.

Step 5 : Please enter user name, password as appropriate. Complete the captcha entry as applicable and then click “Login” button which is highlighted in “GREEN” in the below image.

Step 6 : If you are a new user, Please complete the prompted details as appropriate under “REGISTER” section. Click the check box for “By registering you are agreeing to our terms & conditions” option which is pointed out by a “RED” arrow in the image and then click “Send OTP” button at the bottom which is highlighted in “YELLOW” in the below image.

Step 7 : An OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Please enter the OTP at the prompted space and click the “Register” button which is pointed with “RED” arrow in the image below to complete the registration process.

Step 8 : In this page, you need to change your password. Enter appropriate details and click on “Submit” button which is highlighted in “RED” in the image below.

Step 9 : Click on “OK” button which is pointed with “GREEN” arrow in the image below.

Step 10 : Please click “OK” button which is highlighted in “BLUE” in the image below.

Step 11 : On successful login, applicant will reach the dashboard. Here select “Apply IEC” button which is highlighted in “GREEN” in the image below.

Step 12 : In the resulting page please select “Start Fresh Application” button which is highlighted in “Red” in the image below.

Step 13 : Applicant will reach the online applying page.Please complete the sections “General Information”, “Details of Proprietor/Partner/ Director”, “Bank Information”, “Other Details (preferred sectors of operations)”, “Declaration” and “Application Summary” by filling/selecting applicable details and uploading documents as appropriate.Under each section please use the “Save & Next” button which is highlighted in “GREEN” in the image below to progress for the next section.

Step 14 : Once you reach “Application Summary” section, please click “Preview IEC Application” button to get the preview of the online application.
Step 15 : If the online application is ok, come back to the applying page and click “Sign” button to process the payment.
Step 16 : Once the sign button is selected, applicant will get a popup for confirmation. Please click “Ok” button.
Step 17 : A “Sign Submission” popup prompts user to select signing method. Please click “Proceed” button under “Aadhaar e-Sign” / “Digital Signature Certificate” option as applicable for your type.
Step 18 : A popup screen will be displayed. Please select the check box for “By clicking the checkbox…” option and then click “Continue” option.
Step 19 : Please complete the e-Authentication for the type selected (“Aadhaar e-Sign” / “Digital Signature Certificate”). On successful authentication applicant will get “Document Signed Successfully” popup.
Step 20 : Please click “OK” button to get “Proceed To Payment” button. Please select this button.
Step 21 : A new page with applicant and payment details will be provided. Please click “Submit” button.
Step 22 : Payment summary will be provided. Please check the details and then click “Confirm” button to reach the payment gateway page.
Step 23 : Please select the payment method and other applicable details as per your payment type.
Step 24 : After all the details are completed, please click “Pay” button at the bottom.
Step 25 : This application will be processed internally. Applicant receives update from department. Once the IEC code is approved, applicant will receive the IEC allotment letter through e-mail.
Step 26 : Hardcopy of IEC will be sent by Speed Post to the applicant’s address.
