Procedure

Through Meeseva centre

1. Applicant shall approach the meeseva centre to apply.
2. Go to the nearest Meeseva center. Link for Meeseva center details: link please select the numbers against the respective area as appropriate for contact details]
3. Applicant can collect “APPLICATION FOR TRANSPOSITION (FORM-8A)” application form from the counter staff (by paying applicable amount) Or you can download it online.
4. Use the following link to download form. Online link for form8A (Hindi / English) : link please click “Download this file” button to get prompt. Please click the “Download” button next to the preferred language to get the form.
5. Please complete the application form and attach the required documents and submit it to the operator.
6. The submitted application will be processed by the operator. Applicant will be provided with transaction id. This will be useful to track the status of application.
7. This application will be processed further by the respective department to make required changes.
   

Apply through Online Portal : - Change Address in Voter List (Electoral Roll) Online with Images

1. Go to the online website. Link for site: link
2. In the given new window, click “login/register” button under “Login/Register to Avail following Facilities” on the left part of the screen.
3. User will reach login page. Please enter “User Name”, “Password” and “Captcha” as appropriate. Finally click “Login” button.
   1. If you are a new user then please use the “Don’t have account, register…..” option to reach registration page. Complete the page prompts as appropriate and click “Register” button to complete registration and then login.
4. Once login, in the given page click “Migration to another place” option under “What would you like to do?”.
5. A new page prompts user to choose either “Self” or “Family”. Please choose as per requirement to get a prompt for entering Epic number. Enter the epic number against “Enter Epic no.”
6. After entering epic number please choose either “Migration outside your constituency” or Migration within your constituency”. Please choose as per requirement and then click “Next” button.
7. A new page will be displayed. Please select the language of choice and choose state, District and constituency as appropriate.
8. Please select as per your requirement for the given options. Enter personal details, Address details EPIC details, EPIC number of neighbour.
9. In continuation of the above, please upload required documents using the “Choose File” button as applicable. Please complete the other mandatory prompts as appropriate. Please enter email ID, Phone number and other details as applicable. Make sure to fill the mandatory details correctly.
10. Enter the Captcha at the prompted space and click “Preview & Submit” button to apply online.
11. If the preview looks correct please click the “Submit” button
12. A system generated reference id will be displayed as acknowledgement.
13. Save it to use for tracking your application online later.
14. Once you have submitted your application, it will be verified by the electoral officers as per department protocol.
15. On successful verification, applicant will be issued with a updated voter ID having updated address printed on it.
16. Applicant will also receive a notification regarding the addition of their name in the electoral roll of the constituency where they currently reside.
    

NOTE:

• Please submit your original voter ID at the time of collecting updated voter ID
• These change will reflect on the voters list in the next turn of voting for election.

Need for the Document

• Voter ID card is considered as one of the vital documents in considering ones address proof when applying for government services (Passport, Pan etc)
• In case there is a change of address within constituency or outside constituency, then apply for transfer of address on the voter ID.

Information which might help

• A person cannot be enrolled as a voter in more than one place in the same constituency or in more than one constituency in view of the provisions contained under Sec. 17 and 18 of R. P. Act, 1950.
