Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To renew FSSAI license for cold storage, you have to visit the Deputy Commissioner office.

3. You can download the application Form-A for renewal from the following link: Link.
4. Please make sure you are eligible to make the application by going through the eligibility criteria provided under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
5. First download the Form- C from the link and fill all the required information and you need to submit the form to the Commissioner of Food safety department. The address is mentioned in the office locations & contacts section below.
6. Please complete the application form and make sure you have all the documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. Pay the appropriate fees and submit the form to the Commissioner of Food and Safety Department in the office of the deputy commissioner.
8. Designated Officer may order an inspection before renewal if considered necessary for reasons to be recorded in writing.
9. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
10. The applicant will be later requested to collect the renewed License for cold storage on a specified date.

Apply Online:

1. To renew FSSAI license for Cold storage through online, you can use the FSSAI website. Please click the following link: Website
2. After visiting the Home page, click on the “Renewals” icon and Enter Your License/Registration number, Validity Date and Captcha Code and then Click on the “submit” button.
3. Next it will show all your Food License details, now click on the “Proceed” button and then Click “Yes” option.
4. Next Select the Number of years for your License validity and then Click on the “Proceed for Payment” tab and then download the form and sign it and write the Date and Place in the form.
5. Now scan the signed application form and upload it into the website by selecting “Choose file” option and click the “Upload” tab.
6. After uploading the documents click the “Submit” tab located at the bottom of the page to move to the next page.
7. Now payment options will be provided in this page. Pay the correct amount and click “Upload”.
8. Click on the “Submit” tab to get the acknowledge slip. Please keep the slip safely for future use.
9. The Food inspector will inspect all the details and if they are correct the license will be approved.
10. This application will be processed by them and they will notify you through your e-mail or by SMS.

Required Documents

• Any change in documents or information provided during grant of previous license.
• Certificate or Plan of Food Safety Management System being adopted (for units under Central Licensing it has to be a certificate from accredited agencies)
• Expired license is required.
• To appeal for FSSAI registration renewal, you need to have all the mentioned documents.
• Passport size photograph of the candidate
• The ID proof of the applicant (Voter ID card or Aadhar Card)
• Copy of PAN card
• Address Proof (Telephone bill, Mobile bill, Electricity bill, Gas bill)
• Copy of property papers in case you own the business place
• Copy of Rent agreement along with the NOC letter from the landlord
• The process of renewal of the FSSAI license is thus the same as the process of application of the FSSAI license.

• The license ensures that the food from the Cold storage is hygienic.
• You can’t start a food business without FSSAI license. So, don’t sell foods without FSSAI license.
• For to preserve these foods we need to obtain Cold storage license from FSSAI.

Information which might help

• Sometimes the authorities will do inspections if you don’t have license then you must pay huge amount has penalty.
• FSSAI License Renewal should be done in time to avoid penalties. The renewal needs to done before 120 days of the license expiry.
• The FSSAI license will appear in FSSAI license renewal bin before 60 days of the expiration of FSSAI license. Hence it is suggested to apply for renewal of Food License at the same time.
• Any renewal application filed beyond the period mentioned under Regulation 2.1.7 (2) above but before the expiry date, shall be accompanied by a late fee of Rs 100 per day for each day of delay.
