Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain Permit to Carry (Journey) Firearm (Gun), the applicant has to approach the State Deputy Commissioner office link
  2. An application form VII will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. Or the applicant can download the application form from the following link Refer Page No 97
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
  10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  11. Once the process gets completed successfully, the applicant gets the permit with the authority's signature through email.
  12. The processing time for this procedure takes up to 10 - 15 days.

  • Any firearm license holder who intends to Carry (Journey) Firearm (Gun) is eligible to make this application.



FeesEdit

  • To Obtain Permit to Carry (Journey) Firearm (Gun) the applicant has to pay the prescribed fee of Rs 500 for each Firearm.

  • The validity of this permit is applicable for one travel only.

  • Applicants must complete the application form before submitting it. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • Applicants must provide genuine information while applying for this procedure.
  • Licensees are warned that in case they sell or transfer any arms or ammunition covered by the licences possessed by them to any person, they shall forthwith inform in writing the district magistrate having jurisdiction or the officer-in-charge of the nearest police station, of such sale or transfer together with the particulars of the arms or ammunition and the person to whom they have been sold or transferred (Section 5 of the Arms Act, 1959). Failure to give such information is punishable with imprisonment for a term, which may extend to six months, or with fine, which may extend to Rs. 500/- or with both [Section 25 (3) of the Act.]

  • Whoever acquires, has in his possession, or carries any prohibited arms or prohibited ammunition in contravention of section 7 shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than five years, but which may extend to ten years and shall also be liable to fine.
