Step – 1 – Udyam Registration Number

  1. To Apply for ZED (Zero Defect Zero Effect) Certification, the applicant has to make the application via the following Link
  2. If the Enterprise is not registered under Udyam Registration, then the applicant may first register on with clicking the following link which is mentioned in the screen.
  3. The link will re-direct to the new page, click the “For New Entrepreneur who are not registered yet as MSME or those with EM II”.
  4. Now the applicant has to enter the Aadhaar number and name of the entrepreneur and then click the “Validate & Generate OTP” button.
  5. The applicant gets the OTP from the registered mobile number.
  6. Enter the OTP and click the “Submit” button.
  7. In case of a Company or a Limited Liability Partnership or a Cooperative Society or a Society or a Trust, the organisation or its authorised signatory shall provide its GSTIN and PAN along with its Aadhaar number.


Step – 2 – ZED registration

  1. To Apply for ZED (Zero Defect Zero Effect) Certification, the applicant has to make the application via the following Link
  2. The applicant has to click the “PROCEED” button.
  3. Enter the udyam registration number with the mobile number and click the “PROCEED”
  4. The applicant has to select the ZED pledge level - gold, silver or bronze.
  5. The applicant must conform to all requirements of the level applied to get the ZED Certification.
  6. In the next step, the applicant has to enter all details to complete for registration process.
  7. Also, upload the necessary documents which is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  8. There is no fee for ZED certificate.
  9. Once completed with all details, the applicant has to click the “Submit” button.
  10. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  11. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call or email from the office regarding the application.
  12. The applicant has to start the training as per instructed by the officer.
  13. Once the training is completed successfully, the applicant will get the ZED certificate from the office.
  14. The processing time for this procedure will be according to the training completion.

EligibilityEdit

All MSMEs registered with the UDYAM registration portal (of the MoMSME) will be eligible to participate in MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification and avail related benefits/incentives.

FeesEdit

There is no fee for ZED certificate.

ValidityEdit

After the expiry of the validity of the ZED Certificate, MSMEs can go for Renewal of their ZED Certification level in order to continue availing associated benefits/incentives and the validity date is mentioned in the certificate.

The ZED Certification envisages promotion of Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) practices amongst MSMEs so as to:

  • Encourage and enable MSMEs for manufacturing of quality products using latest technology, tools & to constantly upgrade their processes for achievement of high quality and high productivity with the least effect on the environment
  • Develop an Ecosystem for ZED Manufacturing in MSMEs, for enhancing competitiveness and enabling exports
  • Promote adoption of ZED practices and recognising the efforts of successful MSMEs
  • Encourage MSMEs to achieve higher ZED Certification levels through graded incentives
  • Increase public awareness on demanding Zero Defect and Zero Effect products through the MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification
  • Identify areas to improve upon, thereby assisting the Government in policy decisions and investment prioritization
