Andaman and Nicobar - Apply for Tribal Pass

Following are the ways through which you can apply for tribal pass in Andaman and Nicobar.
Apply In-Person:
- To visit the tribal area, apply for the tribal pass by approaching the Deputy Commissioner office of your district.
- Download the application form A appended to Andaman & Nicobar islands( Protection of Aboriginal Tribes) Regulation 1956 from the given link : Form-A
- Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
- Submit the form to the Deputy Commissioner office along with the required documents. More details about the Deputy Commissioner office location is provided in the following link : Contacts

- After the application form is processed, an enquiry officer will make a thorough verification regarding your identity proof which you have submitted along with the form, criminal records if any and some general investigations.
- You will be receiving the acknowledgment slip after the successful verification.
- A tribal pass will be issued by the authority after verifying all the details submitted by the applicant.
- Collect your pass from the regional deputy commissioner’s office where you have applied after a week of submission.
- Now the applicant can visit the tribal area with the help of tribal pass.
Apply online:
- To apply for the tribal pass in Andaman and Nicobar Islands online the applicant shall follow the given link: Link.
- Enter the username and password to log in if already a user. Otherwise, click on the "Create Account" button for a new account and provide email id and phone number.
- After the successful login, click on the “Useful service” button which is displayed on the home page of the portal.
- Now select “Tribal pass” from a list of online services on the page.
- The application form for the tribal pass will open up on the next screen.
- Fill out the application with the required details and attach the prescribed documents mentioned in the "Required Documents" section of this page.
- Click on the “Submit” button after completing the details in the application form.
- Upon successful submission, the applicant will receive an acknowledgement slip which shall be kept safe for future reference.
- After verification, the applicant can obtain the tribal pass to visit the tribal area from the concerned authority with the help of the acknowledgement slip.
Required DocumentsEdit
Following are the list of documents that has to be enclosed along with the application form to get the tribal pass
- 2 passport size photographs.
- Proof of Identity such as Electoral Photo Identity card /Islanders Identity Card/ Passport/Local certificate
- Family Identity Card
- Recommendation/Sponsorship of the concerned department/Govt. agency justifying the visit to Reserved Area
- Character/Antecedents Certificate issued by any gazetted Officer
- In case of Foreigners, permission of the Ministry of the Home affairs.
- Challan payable if approved – Rs. 5/-
- Character Certificate from Gazetted Officer.

ValidityEdit
- A pass under section 7 may be granted for a period of one year or a part thereof and may, subject to the provisions of these rules, be renewed for a further period not exceeding one year.

- Aboriginal tribe" means any of the following tribes or tribal communities in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and includes parts of, or groups within, such tribes or tribal communities, namely; Andamanese. Jarawas. Onges, Sentinelese. Nicobarese, and Shom Pens.
