Apply In-Person:
- To request a Personal Access Code (PAC) in person, the applicant has to visit the Service Canada office.
- Links containing address and contact details of the Service Canada offices in Alberta can be found in the following contact link
- The applicant has to visit the nearest Service Canada Office and inform that he/she needs a Personal Access Code.
- The relevant official will direct the applicant how to make the request for a PAC. The applicant has to follow the official’s instructions and do as required.
- The applicant should have and provide all the information listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Once the application process has been completed, the request will be processed by the relevant officials in the Service Canada Office.
- The submitted information will be assessed and if the officials are satisfied, they will send the PAC to the applicant’s address through mail.
Apply online
- To request a Personal Access Code (PAC) online, the applicant has to visit the following link apply online
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page that opens and click “Continue” button. In the next page, enter all the required details in the respective fields.
- Applicant’s Social Insurance Number, First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth and Parent’s Family Name at Birth will be required.
- Enter all these details and click “Continue” button. Follow the onscreen instructions and proceed to submit the request by clicking the applicable button.
- Once submitted, the request will be processed by the relevant officials in the Service Canada Office.
- The submitted information will be assessed and if the officials are satisfied, they will send the PAC to the applicant’s address through mail.

- Applicants of Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan Canada Pension Plan Disability (CPP-D) and Old Age Security (OAS) are eligible.
- The applicant can be a Canadian or a foreign resident and he/she must have a Social Insurance Number.

- The applicants are advised to keep his/her Personal Access Codesafe and to not share it with any others.
- If the applicantis using this service on a shared computer in a public area (i.e. public kiosk or library), they should not leave the computer unattended while accessing this service.
- Before leaving the computer, it is also important that the applicant fully logs out of the application, clear the browser's cache and close down the browser. These precautions will ensure that no one else can access any personal information that they have entered.
