Note: This calculator is only for adults (age 18 and over). Minors (under age 18) have some different requirements: minor requirements

  1. To calculate the eligibility for the Citizenship online, the applicant has to visit the following link: apply online
  2. After visiting the link, the applicant has to answer some questions to find out if he/she is ready to apply for Canadian citizenship.
  3. First question will be about the residential status of the applicant inside Canada. Answer it by clicking the applicable radio button.
  4. Then, the applicant will be checked about his/her criminal status and his/her crime convictions.
  5. Thirdly, he/she will have to answer a question about their proficiency in languages. Select the applicable option by clicking the radio button.
  6. Finally, the applicant will have questions about his/her tax information in the past five years.
  7. Once completed providing all the answers, the results of the analysis will be displayed on the next page.
  8. If the answers are in compliance with the requirements of citizenship, the applicant will be eligible to apply.
  9. If not, he/she will be declared ineligible to apply for citizenship.

  • Police Clearance Certificate or relevant information
  • Proof of proficiency in English or French
    • Results from approved third party language test
    • Diploma, certificate or final transcript for a secondary or post-secondary school program in English or French
    • Results from a government funded language training program with at least a CLB/NCLC level 4
  • Personal Tax Information (in the past 5 years)
