Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. The applicant will have to visit the nearest registry agent, use this link to find the nearest agent Link.
2. Download and fill the application form with relevant details, use the following link to the Application Form.
3. The applicant will have to show proof of identity, find the required documents under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. Submit the application form along with all supporting documents at the registry agent’s office.
5. The applicant will have to pay fees, the payment details are mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
6. The applicant shall receive their birth certificate within 3 days from the submission of the application, certificate can be picked from the office or be sent by mail.

Eligibility

• The birth certificate must not be older than 120 years old.
• The person whose birth certificate is being ordered should not have been deceased for more than 50 years.
• The person should have been born in Canada and have their birth registered.

Fees

• The applicant will have to pay a fee of 20$.
• The applicant may have to pay an additional fee for registered agent services.

Validity

• A birth certificate is valid forever and does not need to be renewed.

Processing Time
