All applications for a Water and Sewerage Connection shall be made to the Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) branch office located countrywide.WUC Branch Offices Contact Details
NEW WATER SUPPLY CONNECTION
Apply In-Person
- Applicants are required to collect and complete the applicable Application form for water service connection (for Individual or Business/company connection) and the Property owner authorization form (if applicable), forms are obtainable at any of the Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) office customer care desk, or download them via the WUC website WUC Application Forms or directly download them using these links; Application form for new water connection (Business/Organisation) , Application form for new water connection (Individuals) , Property owner authorization form. This form should be completed by the owner of the building/premises if the application is been made by a tenant.
- Submit the relevant supporting documentation as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page, in addition to the duly completed relevant application form(s), in all respect, to the nearest WUC branch office. Any omission of these documents will render the application process incomplete.
- Upon submission, the application is checked for completeness and correctness by the WUC customer care staff, if everything is in order the application is registered for assessment and consideration.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be issued to the client that will serve as proof of submission of the application and for inquiry referencing if the need arises. Customers are requested to come back or call the WUC office after 7 working days for a quotation.
- The application file is then transmitted to the technical service for study, by the technical unit and quantity surveyors unit. The WUC surveyor’s team will then be sent to the site (residence in question) to inspect its feasibility and write a report.
- The report will then be validated by the technical agent, who will then draw a receipt indicating an estimated cost of the layout connection materials from the main water pipe.
- The file along with the quotation is then returned to the reception desk, to be issued to the client, who then decides if and when to make the connection fee.
- The customer is asked to pay the quotation fee plus a refundable security deposit. The charges may vary depending on the location. Customers are encouraged to pay over the counter to avoid delays.
- If you agree to make full payment, the WUC receptionist will issue the customer a contract form (Agreement for the supply of water) in duplicates to complete and sign and sends them to the customer service manager for signature/stamp.
- The file is recorded on the computer, then sent to the cash register where you will be advised to make payment against the connection receipt.
- Upon payment, the applicant/customer will be issued a payment receipt as well as the original copy of the contract, the other copy of the contract is retained by the WUC for filling purposes.
- A copy of the file is then sent to the accounting department for the journaling of the receipts. A second copy is sent to technical service and a third is filed with customer service.
- The technical service team will then visit the residence for external works, meter installation, and water flows within 7 days.
- Upon completing the installation, a meter installation form will be issued to the applicant by the technical service team to be completed, sign and then place in your file. The file is then sent to reception for updating and invoicing.
- The customer will receive his or her first bill with water charges within one month from the connection date.
Apply Online
- The application for a new water connection can also be filed online via the WUC website, locate the “Your Water Account” option, and on the extended menu click on the” Login/Register” option.
- This will navigate you to the login page, Persons registered with the WUC should log in with their registered email address and password to access the WUC online platform. If not registered click on the “Register” tab.
- The registration page will be displayed, Fill out all the mandatory fields accurately, solve the math question then click on the “Register” button.
- Upon successful submission of the request, you will receive a notification message on your screen, informing you that the registration was successful, click on the “Login” hyperlink and login with your newly created credentials.
- The dashboard will be displayed, click on the “New Connection” option, then click on the “Add New” button, this will navigate you to the online application form for the new water connection page.
- Please select the “Potable” option, and fill out all mandatory fields accurately in each section before clicking on the “Save &Continue” button.
- Upload all supporting documents as listed on the site then click on the “Save &Continue” button.
- The “Terms and Conditions” page will be displayed, read through the terms and conditions document, and if you agree to the terms & conditions, click on the “Save & Continue” button.
- A summary of your application will be displayed on the screen, confirm if the information provided is accurate, if satisfied that the information you have provide is true and accurate, click on the “Confirm” button to submit the application.
- Note: The uploaded documents should be certified by relevant authorities.
- Upon successful submission of the request, you will receive a notification message on your screen, notifying you that the application request has been received for processing and consideration by the WUC and that you will be contacted by the WUC after your application has been validated.
- After 7 working days, of submission of the application, the quotation will be emailed to the applicant or the applicant should call the WUC office for the quotation.
- The application file is then transmitted to the technical service for study, by the technical unit and quantity surveyors unit. The WUC surveyor’s team will then be sent to the site (residence in question) to inspect its feasibility and write a report.

- The customer will receive his or her first bill with sewer charges within one month from the connection date.

- Resolution letter on company letterhead clearly indicating who has been assigned to sign for the company.
- Building certificate (categories vary from A to E)
For Government
- Completed/signed and stamped Water Connection Application Form for Business/company
- Proof of ownership (allocation letter)
- Resolution letter for the assigned guarantor.
For Individuals
- Proof of ownership (title deed/certificate of land rights)
- Certified copy of Omang (Citizens) or Passport (Non-Citizens)
- Document of matrimonial status (where applicable) for residential and if the property is in the name of a woman.

For Sewer Connection
- For connection points that are within a 30m radius, approval will be given right away. That connection points more than 30m, customers have to provide the technical drawing of the route to the connection point, the pipeline data and the connection details, and also approval for land use (wayleave). For this submission, approval has to be undertaken first before payment is effected.
