Procedure

• A Character Certificate is an official document issued by the respective department authorities which states whether a person has any previous convictions recorded against him/her.
  

Apply In-Person :

1. Applicant shall approach their area Police station. Consult with them for your requirement to obtain the character certificate and follow their guidelines.
2. Link for contact details : link Select the respective district hyperlink for district portal. In the district portal please select “ABOUT DISTRICT > Who’s Who” OR “ABOUT DISTRICT > ADMINISTRATIVE SETUP > Wards and Panchayats” OR “DIRECTORY > PUBLICUTILITIES > Municipalities” as appropriate for the contact details.
3. Please go to the respective office.
4. Applicant shall obtain the form from the respective office (please pay for the form if required) Or a written application on A4 plain sheet as advised shall be used
5. Submit the completed application along with required documents.
6. Authorities after checking the attached documents and application submitted will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
7. This application will be processed internally. Respective authorities will do the ground level verification in the residing area of the applicant followed by scrutiny of the documents and details provided by the applicant.
8. Once the verification is over, these officials will submit their report to the respective authority to decide and issue the Certificate to the applicant.
9. Applicant will get the certificate as per notified period after due verification.

2. In the given page, please select the “Login” menu.
3. A new popup screen prompts user for login credentials.
4. Please fill in details as appropriate and hit “Log in” button to login.
   1. If you are a new user please use the “Don’t have an account? Register HERE” option to register and then login to apply.
5. Once logged in, Please select “Issuance of Character Certificate” option on the right part of the screen.
6. Applicant will be taken to online application form page.
7. Please fill in the prompted details as appropriate. Upload prompted documents as applicable.
8. Please click the check box for “I Agree” option and then click “Save draft” button.
9. Please follow the resulting page requirement to submit the application online.
10. Applicant will get an acknowledgement for the application submitted online.
11. Please keep the acknowledgement for future reference.
12. This application will be processed by the respective department
13. Applicant will get notification about the status on his registered mobile number provided while applying.
14. Please follow department notification to get the certificate as per norms.

3. Purpose of certificate requirement details (Student/govt or non govt employee)
4. Court stamp as per requirement
5. Birth certificate
6. Six month old or applicable period copy of Residence Proof (Voter card, Ration Card, Telephone/Electricity/Water Bill, Passport, Insurance Policy, Aadhaar Card)
7. Passport (as per requirement)
8. Identity Proof (Voter ID / Aadhar card)

10. Affidavit.
11. Self Declaration.(Affidavit to prove that YOU ARE YOU)
12. Bonafide Certificate from the school
13. Passport size photograph (as applicable)
