Apply In Person
- To Register to become a Tomato Handler, the applicant has to approach the U.S. Department of Agriculture link
- Note: The applicant has to click on the state to find nearby office to them.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the respective officer.
- Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
- The Applicant has to make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
- Applicant has to attach the photocopies of the documents that are needed along with the application form before submitting.
- The fee for this procedure has to paid as per the authority’s request.
- Concerned authorities will look into the application form and the submitted document.
- Once the process is completed, the applicant gets the notification through mail to get the license.
- The applicant can get the certificate by visiting the office within 3weeks.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- A tomato handler who is certified as a registered handler is a handler who has adequate facilities to meet the requirements for preparing tomatoes for market, obtains inspection on tomatoes handled, agrees to handle tomatoes in compliance with the order’s grade, size and container requirements, pays applicable assessments on a timely basis, submits reports required by the Committee, and agrees to comply with other regulatory requirements on the handling of tomatoes grown in the production area.
