ProcedureEdit

Apply Online:

  1. To Register for Atal Pension Yojana (APY), the applicant can make their registration online by using the following link
  2. The applicant must click “Atal Pension Yojana” and click APY Registration.
  3. Then the applicant must fill all the details on the registration page.
  4. After entering all the details, enter captcha and click “Continue”.
  5. Next the applicant must enter OTP received to the registered mobile number and start filling the application form.
  6. Then the applicant has to upload the required documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  7. Review the application and click “Submit”
  8. The fee for this procedure is free of cost.
  9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  10. All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
  11. Once everything is accepted the applicant will be notified via email and SMS.
  12. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.


Apply In-Person:

  1. To Register for Atal Pension Yojana (APY), the applicant has to approach the respective Bank branch or post office where they have a savings account
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.Or the applicant has to download the application form from the following link
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. The fee for this procedure is free of cost.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
  10. The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
  11. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit

Here are the 4 Atal Pension Yojana eligibility criteria to meet to avail of the scheme:

  • All Indian citizens are eligible to invest in this scheme. Although, the age limit in Atal Pension Yojana is between 18 years to 40 years.
  • If you have availed for Swavalamban Yojana, you will automatically avail the benefits of this scheme.
  • As an applicant, you must have a savings account with a bank or a post office account.
  • You must not have an existing APY account.
  • If you have availed of Swavalamban Yojana, you will be transferred to the Atal Pension Yojana scheme.
  • An Aadhaar card is an important document required for Atal Pension Yojana. The bank official may also not accept your application if you don’t have an Aadhaar card.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • Atal Pension Yojana (APY), a pension scheme launched by Government of India is focused on the unorganized sector workers. Under the APY, minimum guaranteed pension of Rs. 1,000/- or 2,000/- or 3,000/- or 4,000 or 5,000/- per month will start after attaining the age of 60 years depending on the contributions by the subscribers for their chosen pension amount.

HIGHLIGHTS OF ATAL PENSION YOJANA:

  • Under the APY, there is guaranteed minimum monthly pension for the subscribers ranging between Rs. 1000 and Rs. 5000 per month.
  • The benefit of minimum pension would be guaranteed by the Government of India.
  • Government of India will also co-contribute 50% of the subscriber’s contribution or Rs. 1000 per annum, whichever is lower. Government co-contribution is available for those who are not covered by any Statutory Social Security Schemes and is not income tax payer.
  • Government of India will co-contribute to each eligible subscriber, for a period of 5 years who joins the scheme between the period 1st June, 2015 to 31st December, 2015. The benefit of five years of government Co-contribution under APY would not exceed 5 years for all subscribers including migrated Swavalamban beneficiaries.
  • All bank account holders may join APY.
