Procedure

Apply Online

1. To Register a Barcode, the applicant has to approach make the application online via the following link
2. The applicant has to enter their Business Email or PAN number and click register now.
3. Next applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Review the application and click “Submit”
6. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested. The fee details are mentioned in “Fees” section of this page.
7. The applicant can also use the following link to calculate the fee by selected annual sales, number of barcodes and year and click “Calculate” link
8. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
9. The registration process usually takes 7-10 working days after submitting the registration form and necessary documents, along with fee payment.

Required Documents

• Applicant Company’s PAN card or proprietor’s PAN card for a proprietorship firm
• Copy of balance sheet to substantiate the applicant’s annual sales turnover
• Letter on company letterhead requesting barcode allotment
• Proof of status of the applicant company
  • For Proprietorship Firms: GST/VAT registration certificate
  • For Partnership Firms: GST/VAT registration certificate or partnership deed
  • For Private/Public Ltd. Company: GST/VAT registration certificate and Registrars of Companies (ROC) certificate or Memorandum of Association (MOA)
  • For other entities (e.g., Registered Society, HUF etc.): GST/VAT registration certificate or Registrar of Society (ROS) certificate
• Cancelled cheque copy of the company

Validity

• The validity of the barcode is depending on the subscription year selected by the applicant. For e.g., 1 year, 2 years, 5years or 10 years. Subscription should be renewed well before the expiry date for continued use of barcode numbers.
