Andhra Pradesh - Obtain Electricity Connection

ProcedureEdit

To obtain electricity connection for their premises, one has to apply at the respective electricity board/company office of their respective area.

  1. “Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission” (APERC) is a state-owned electricity regulation board operating within the state of Andhra Pradesh.
  2. The government-run power companies - EASTERN POWER DISTRIBUTION COMPANY OF ANDHRA PRADESH LTD. (APEPDCL) and SOUTHERN POWER DISTRIBUTION COMPANY OF A.P LTD (APSPDCL) are in the business of distribution of Electricity in Andhra Pradesh.

Apply In-Person:

  1. Go to your area local Electricity office personally and consult with the authority for your need. They will suggest you with the correct main/division office to contact and apply for Electricity (EB) connection.
  2. Please use the below links to get contact details.  :
    1. For SOUTHERN POWER DISTRIBUTION COMPANY OF A.P LTD (APSPDCL) Consumers. Please use the below links to get contact details of respective Circle.  : Circle Contact link
    2. For EASTERN POWER DISTRIBUTION COMPANY OF ANDHRA PRADESH LTD. (APEPDCL) Consumers. Consumers shall use the following link to reach the respective district wise contact details in order to identify respective address or phone numbers to respective office online link under contacts menu use the respective place name for contact details.
  3. Go to the respective office and meet the respective authority (The Executive Engineer / Assistant Engineer / Junior Engineer) with the available documents. On their advice, collect the form and initiate the process to apply.
  4. Applicant shall use the following link to download respective form. APSPDCL application form Link Or application form Link
  5. Once the application is filled, then submit it along with required document to the concerned authorities (The Executive Engineer / Assistant Engineer / Junior Engineer) at the respective office. (must include licensed electrical contractor intended to do wiring)
  6. Authorities will verify the submitted documents, if all the documents are in place then authorities will advise the customer to pay the fee for this procedure.
  7. Applicant shall follow the authorities guidelines.
  8. Once the payment is made, a receipt will be issued to the applicant. Keep it safe for future reference.
  9. This application will be subjected for internal processing and a technician will inspect the premises on a scheduled date at the presence of applicant.
  10. At the end of the survey, technician will mark the place for meter to be fixed and also entry of supply mains and other equipment to be fixed. He will also fill the survey report.
  11. If the report shows feasible condition to provide supply, then applicant gets intimation about the sanction.
    • In case applicant fails to comply within a period of three months from the date of power sanction, the power sanction as well as registration shall stand cancelled. Besides, the registration fee paid will be forfeited.
    • If the report shows non feasibility, applicant will be asked to bear the extra cost for providing viable condition as advised by department.
  12. Now approach the office to get the charges for service line, initial security deposit, cost of metre/metering equipment etc.,. Make appropriate payment and obtain the receipt along with application number.
  13. Once all the above said procedures are over and complete, the electricity department/company will issue the work order.
  14. Thereupon the concerned Junior Engineer/Assistant Engineer will arrange to provide the power supply.
  15. Pole will be installed, Applicant has to submit the Test report with the help of licensed electrical contractor followed by provision of Electrical connection.

Note:

  • High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) are two different supply categories



Through Meeseva centre

  1. Applicant shall approach the meeseva centre to apply.
  2. Go to the nearest Meeseva center. Link for Meeseva center details : link please select as appropriate for contact details]
  3. Applicant can collect “Issuance of certificate” application form from the counter staff (by paying applicable amount) Or use the following link as applicable to download the form. link AND link2
  4. Please complete the application form and attach the required documents and submit it to the operator.
  5. The submitted application will be processed by the operator. Applicant will be provided with transaction id. This will be useful to track the status of application.
  6. This application will be processed further by the respective department.
  7. Once the process is over, applicant gets notification to collect the certificate.
  8. Use the transaction id to obtain certificate from the office as per notified period.



Apply Online

APSPDCL :
  1. To apply online, please follow the below steps..
  2. Go to the online portal portal link and click “New connection & Domestic Addl. Load Register” tab at the bottom to reach the next page for applying online.
  3. In the given page please select “Online New Connection Registration for LT(below 100HP/75KW)” option to reach New connection registration page.
  4. Please provide all the details as per prompt as appropriate, upload required document as applicable.
  5. Once all the page requirements are complete click “Registration” button at the bottom to register.
  6. Please follow the page instruction and details to complete the online submission of application.
  7. Please save the acknowledgement receipt for the submitted application. Keep it safe for future reference.
  8. This submitted application will be processed further. Notification from department (through SMS or over phone) for further process will reach applicant.
  9. Applicant shall go to the respective office with the printout of application along with other documents and follow the guidelines to get the connection.

APEPDCL :
  1. To apply online, please follow the below steps..
  2. Go to the online portal portal link and click “LT New connection” option on the left part of the screen to reach the next page for applying online.
  3. Please select Yes or No for the prompt “'Yes' - If the nearest electric pole is within 30 meters from the premises to which supply is required.” OR “'No' - If the nearest electric pole is more than 30 meters from the premises to which supply is required” as appropriate.
  4. Applicant will be provided with a screen about the estimation and information.
  5. Please click “Close” button and click “Submit” button on the page beneath.
  6. Please complete the personal details as prompted and click “Submit” button.
  7. Please follow the resulting page requirements as appropriate and click the respective button to complete filing application online.
  8. Please save the acknowledgement receipt with request id for the submitted application. Keep it safe for future reference.
  9. This submitted application will be processed further. Notification from department (through SMS or over phone) for further process will reach applicant.
  10. Applicant shall go to the respective office with the printout of application along with other documents and follow the guidelines to get the connection.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Application form.
  • Proof of ownership (Sale deed, katha, succession certificate, sanctioned plan from local authority.)
  • Indemnity Bond as per format supplied by the electricity company, if you are not the owner of the premises
  • No objection certificate (NOC) from the owner(If the applicant is tenant or lessee)
  • Proof of permanent residential address (Ration card, PAN, telephone Bill, Insurance policy bond, voters identity card etc.)
  • Clearances for establishment from the Pollution Control Board concerned where applicable .( residential / residential-cum-commercial premises of more than 100 flats)
  • Self- certification for electrical installation of the premises of the consumer for which new connection is being applied for or the test results duly signed by the licensed Electrical Contractor
  • Requisite Earnest Money as advised
  • Proof of occupation or ownership of a premises through any one of the documents (Passport / Voter Identity Card / Rent Bill / Telephone Bill / Municipal or any other Tax Bill / Ration Card / Certificate from Panchayat)
  • The detailed list of electrical equipment’s with number and corresponding wattages
  • For LV & MV consumers, a sketch of new line required for service connection showing the premises from existing LV & MV line is required to be submitted by the intending consumer. (licensed electrical contractor will be helpful)
  • NOC from local administration (assessment and collection department - no due & litigation free)
  • NOC from respective department for digging (if applicable)
  • Test Certificate of metering equipment, if consumer supplies the same.
  • Land Paper
  • Aadhar Card
  • Photograph of the applicant
  • Contact number
  • Consents / Authorizations / Approvals wherever applicable.
  • Service Connection Agreement, if applicable.
  • Consent of the owner of the property if the proposed service line has to pass through the property of some other persons
Note:
  • All original and copy of original with self attestation as advised by respective authorities to submit as per requirement.
  • Apart from the above documents authorities may ask to submit additional information or documents. Please provide them for processing.

EligibilityEdit

  • The owner of the proposed property for which the supply is required
  • If the applicant is not the owner of the premises for which supply is required, then he or she should produce a consent letter from the owner of the premise
  • If the owner is not available or not intended to give consent letter, then the applicant should provide.
    • proof of his/her being in lawful occupation of the premises
    • execute an indemnity bond in the respective Form
    • acceptance to pay security deposit twice the normal rate.

  • Charge differs with requirement. So, authorities will estimate and will give actual figure for getting connection

ValidityEdit

  • Electricity connection will exist till the premises exist.

InstructionsEdit

  • The lawful owner / occupier of premises can apply for the new electricity connection.
  • The applicant should apply in the respective form at the respective office
  • After load survey, he/she will be given quotation for payment of charges which includes Service connection charges , Service Line Charges, Security deposit etc.
  • After payment of above charges the consumer will submit a Test report from the Licensed electrical contractor for the wiring.
  • The service connection will be released as per the chronological order.
