Procedure



Apply through E-Olakh online portal

  1. Use the following link to access the portal : E-Olakh Portal
  2. Above link provides you contact information related to authorities and they should be able to guide you in applying online.



Apply In-Person:

  1. Applicant shall approach the Gram Panchayat, Taluka Panchayat, & Nagarpalika Offices.
  2. Link for contact. contact link
  3. Obtain 'Birth Certificate Update/correction Form' from the respective counter or write in a paper OR use the following link to download the form to apply. link
  4. Please complete the application form and attach the required documents and submit it to the receiving authority
  5. The accepted application and documents will be verified by the authority and a acknowledgement will be provided for applying.
  6. Collect the acknowledgment slip after submitting the form and keep it safe for future reference.
  7. This application will be processed further by the respective department.
  8. Once the process is over, applicant gets notification to collect the certificate.
  9. Use the acknowledgment slip to obtain certificate from the office as per notified period.
Note: This changes will be published in a local newspaper and with the respective state official Gazette publication.



Apply through CSC:

  1. To Download or View Birth Certificate for the existing birth certificate registration, the applicant has to approach the nearest CSC : Link
    NOTE:To check the contact details of the CSC centre, please select the District and Block.
  2. The applicant has to visit the nearest centre.
  3. The applicant has to inform all the details to the respective operator.
  4. The operator will enter the details in the portal with the given details.
  5. The applicant will get the downloaded certificate from the operator.
  6. Please pay as per applicable service charges if any.
  7. The processing time for this procedure is immediate.

Need for the Document

  • A death certificate is either a legal document issued by a medical practitioner which states when a person died, or a document issued by a government civil registration office, that declares the date, location and cause of a person's death, as entered in an official register of deaths.



Information which might help

  • Death certificate helps in closing bank accounts, claiming insurance, selling property of the deceased or any work related to banks. It is also required for property transfer or property tax payment. If the deceased is the owner of a property, then succession certificate will be required in the absence of a 'Will'.
