Download through CRS System
Apply Online through Central Government CRS portal
- Those who registered Death shall download or View the Death Certificate using the following Link
- The applicant has to click the “Login” button on the right side of the page and select “General Public” to reach the “General Public Login” page.
- Here, click on the “SIGN UP” button
- The applicant will reach the “General Public Sign Up” page. Please follow the prompts and hit the “NEXT” button.
- In the resulting screen, please complete the prompts and click on the “NEXT” button.
- In the same manner please complete the other page prompts as applicable and hit the “NEXT” button to complete the registration process.
- Once registered, In the home page, the applicant has to click the “Login” button on the right side of the page and select “General Public” to reach the “General Public Login” page.
- Please enter the prompted details as appropriate and then enter the captcha as applicable and click on the “LOGIN” button.
- The applicant will receive an OTP in their registered mobile number. Please provide the OTP at the prompted space as applicable and click on the “LOGIN” button.
- The applicant will reach the dashboard page.
- Please click the “Death” menu option and choose “Search Death Register” option.
- A “Search” page will be displayed, Please complete the prompts with appropriate details and click on the “Search button.
- A new page with the list of death certificates will be displayed, Please click on the “View” button at the end against the correct record to view and download.

- To Download or View Death Certificate, the applicant has to approach the nearest CSC – link
- NOTE: To check the contact details of CSC centre, please select the District and Block.
- The applicant has to visit the nearest centre.
- The applicant has to inform all the details to the respective officer.
- The officer will enter the details in the portal with the given details.
- The applicant will get the downloaded certificate from the officer.
- To Download or View the Death Certificate, the fee is free of cost.
- The processing time for this procedure is within a minute.

- A death certificate is either a legal document issued by a medical practitioner which states when a person died, or a document issued by a government civil registration office, that declares the date, location and cause of a person's death, as entered in an official register of deaths.

- Death certificate helps in closing bank accounts, claiming insurance, selling property of the deceased or any work related to banks. It is also required for property transfer or property tax payment. If the deceased is the owner of a property, then succession certificate will be required in the absence of a 'Will'.
