Procedure
Note : Currently we see Chhattisgarh has the following service portal link for services that are offered, but currently we don't see "Senior Citizen Certificate" listed as a service provided.
Apply In Person
- To apply for senior citizen certificate the applicant can approach the following respective office link

- In the given page, please select the respective state as applicable to reach the respective state districts page. Please check and scroll down for the “Districts” section. Please click on the “View All” option to reach the districts page. Here click on the applicable district to reach the official district page.
- Here click on the menu and sub option as “DIRECTORY / PUBLIC UTILITIES / Municipalities” to reach a page with required contact information for locating the respective authorities office. Also Please look for other menu and sub options as “ABOUT DISTRICT / Who’s Who”.
- Get in-touch with the appropriate office and they will guide you.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- If all the details are found correct, authorities will provide a certificate.
- This certificate is to ensure the candidate is senior citizen.
- This certificate is one of the documents to get card/coupon/government pension card for senior citizen etc.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
Apply through CSC/Lok Seva Kendra (CHOiCE Center)
- To Apply for Senior Citizen Certificate, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC/Lok Seva Kendra (CHOiCE Center)”. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
- Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- An application form can be obtained through the kiosk operator upon visiting the centre.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
- Submit the application form with “Required Documents” to the office. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
- The operator will process the application online.
- On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
- Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page and collect the receipt.
- An ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
- Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the complaint will be registered.
Apply through Phone Call
- You can apply by calling "14567" which is a National Helpline for the Elders and they should be able to facilitate you to get a Senior Citizen Certifiate or Identity Card.

Required Documents
- Application form.
- Two photographs of the applicant.
- Aadhaar card
- ID card of the applicant (Pension book/ School certificate/ Identity Card issued by competent authority OR Bank passbook with photo)
- Residential Proof(Ration cards/Valid Passport/Voter ID card)
- Pan card ( For Monthly Pension above Rs.15,000 per month)
- Birth certificate / document to prove the age
- Residence certificate issued by Competent Authority for the said period as required.

Need for the Document
- The Government of India provides facilities for citizens above the age of 60 years. In order to avail those facilities one has to get the certificate.
- The senior citizen certificate will allow the holder to receive numerous benefits like discounts in Railways, Flights and other benefits from the government.
Information which might help
- Without cross signature(half on paper and half on photograph) and signature on undertaking, the application will be rejected
- One has to produce the card to prove the authorities whenever asked for. So, this card must be carried always.
- NOTE : It is a punishable offense to try with fraudulent documents to get a Senior citizen certificate

- The senior citizen certificate can also use for a government benefits and schemes, healthcare subsidies, travel concessions, etc.
