Procedure

  • The applicants are advised to go through the following information before renewal process.
    • The department tracks your renewal date as per records and hold the same date as your yearly renewal date. For instance, your renewal date falls in 11th May. You renewed on July 2nd. Your next renewal will be 11th of May of next year only and not July 2nd
    • Registered users don't have to renew unless they want to drive the vehicle. But, if you do drive it, and registration is not renewed, Department’s penalty will be more than the cost of the renewal.
    • Its always advisable to renew your registration as per the date.



Apply Online:

  1. Please use the following link to reach the online page Link
  2. If not a registered user, please click on the “Create an account” to reach “Registration” page.
  3. Complete the prompts as appropriate for “Create account”, “Confirm email” and “Complete registration” sessions as applicable to complete the registration.
  4. Please visit the login page. Complete the prompts under “Sign in to MyGovNL” and click on the “Sign in” button.
  5. Once login, please click “Use service” under "Driver and vehicle".
  6. The page will provide terms. Please accept the terms of use.
  7. Enter and select the prompted details as applicable to complete linking your account with driver and vehicle Services.
  8. After the above said action is complete, the applicant shall view their available services.
  9. Please browse through the page to choose option for renewal.
  10. Once the required filing of information is completed, the applicant shall make a payment of $80 (or as per system advised amount)
  11. The system accepted requested service will be updated on the same day and the confirmation of new registration will be sent to your mail ID.



Apply In-Person:

  1. The department notification for renewal along with application of your vehicle will be mailed to your address as per registration prior to the deadline of your renewal date.
  2. The applicant shall use the application form. If the notification is not received, then approach the Motor Registration Division office.

  5. Go to the office, Please follow the authorities guidelines to renew your registration and make necessary payment.
  6. The authorities will advise the update date and the renewal can be sent to your mal ID or as per department norms.



Apply through mail or fax :

  1. Before proceeding further, use the following general inquiry number to get first hand updated information along with the FAX number to apply through fax: 1-877-636-6867. Also
  2. The department notification for renewal along with application of your vehicle will be mailed to your address as per registration prior to the deadline of your renewal date.
  3. The applicant shall call the office number provided on the notification to get clarification of the attachable and fee remittance.
  4. Please complete the application form. Attach all the documents as notified.
  5. Please remit the advised fees as applicable.
  6. The application set shall be mailed to the following address using a envelop.
