Procedure
Apply Online
- Please use the following : Link
- Here, click on the “Online Services” menu and then choose “Vehicle Related Services” option to get another page.
- Here, please select the state from the drop down list to get another page.
- Please make sure that the “Vehicle Registration No.” option is selected and then complete the prompts as appropriate, click on the check box and hit the “Proceed” button to get a popup.
- Please click the “Proceed” button to close the pop-up and please elect the “Download Documents” and then choose “Print registration certificate” to get another page.
- Please complete the chassis number prompt as applicable and hit the “Validate Information” button.
- Now click the check box and hit the “Generate OTP”.
- Please confirm the OTP verification as prompted and click the “Show details” button.
- The RC will be displayed. Please download or print it.
Apply online through Digilocker
- User shall use the following Link
- In the given page, please click on the “Login / Register” button provided on the top right corner of the screen to reach the “Login or Create Account” page.
- Enter your registered mobile number at the prompts as applicable and click on the “Continue” button to reach the “Verify OTP” screen.
- Please enter the OTP at the prompt as appropriate to complete the OTP authentication process and click on the “Verify” button.
- On successful verification, the dashboard page will be provided.
- The page will display documents already issued under the “Your issued documents” section.
- Please select the RC – Vehicle registration certificate document type if issued already and it is listed to reach the corresponding page.
- Please follow the page prompts as appropriate and follow the page requisite to download the RC of your vehicle.
- If not displayed under the “Your issued documents” section, then click on the “Drive” option to reach the drive page with used space information.
- Ih the citizen already saved his or her document in the drive, please browse through the page for the document type to download.
- If not saved in Disk, then click on the “Search” or “Search Documents” option or enter the certificate type in the “Search for documents” prompt and click on the search icon.
- In the resulting page, please look for the “States” section and click your respective state as applicable.
- In the given state centric page, please click on the certificate type as applicable if the option in that state is available.
- The resulting page will display the certificate or the system will prompt the user to enter required details. #Please follow the page prompts as appropriate and follow the page requisite to download the certificate.
Apply Through Digi Locker App
- To Download or View Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC), the applicant can make their application by installing the Digi locker portal by using the following link link
- Next the applicant has to select language, and click “Get Started”
- If the applicant is an existing user, the applicant must click “Sign In” and login either by mobile number or by username and 6-digit security pin.
- If the applicant is a new user, click sign up and register an account then login.
- Go to the "Get more issued documents" option and select the Ministry of Road and Transport.
- Click on the "Registration of Vehicles" tab and enter the registration number and chassis number of your vehicle.
- After submitting the details, click on the “Get Document” option available on the page.
- the RC book is ready to download in PDF form.
- The fee for Download or View Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) is free of cost.
- The entire processing time completes within minutes.

Eligibility
The following persons are eligible to download or view the Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) in India:
- The registered owner of the vehicle.
- The authorized agent of the registered owner.
- The police officer in connection with the investigation of a traffic offense.
