ProcedureEdit

  1. In Gujarat, the pet dog registration is made compulsory in the Ahmedabad area limit. The deadline was fixed for 31st March 2025. We can access online registration in Ahmedabad.
  2. In other parts of Gujarat the registration is done through offline option.



Apply online

  1. User shall use the following Link
  2. In the given page, please scroll down and click on the “Pet Dog Registration” tab.
  3. In the new page, please click on the “Login for Pet Dog Registration” option.
  4. The “Online Services Booking system” page will be provided. Here, please complete the prompted details as appropriate and click on the “send OTP” button.
  5. Please complete the OTP verification and reach the module page.
  6. Here, please select the “Dog Registration” option icon.
  7. In the given online application form, please complete the prompts for “Pet Dog Owners Details, Pet Dog Owner Address Details, Pet Dog Details” section as applicable and click on the “Add Dog” button at the bottom and upload the prompted documents as applicable.
  8. Please continue to complete the other prompts as applicable and hit the “Submit” button to submit the application online.
  9. On submission a system generated registration number will be provided on the screen and same will be sent to the mobile number provided while applying. Please save it for future reference.
  10. The applicant should get the rabies certificate as applicable. As the online application is approved, the certificate need to be uploaded and the required fee needs to be paid.
  11. Please follow the departments notification for the certificate which can be obtained as pr the delivery mode of the department.



Apply In-Person:

  1. Applicant shall approach their respective civic agencies (municipal/corporation/local body) of their respective area to obtain license for pet dogs.
  2. Link for contact details : Link1 in the given page please click on the Zone Offices menu and se the contact details as per your zone to get the applicable office details.
  3. Use the following link 
  4. In the given page, please select the respective state as applicable to reach the respective state districts page. Please check and scroll down for the “Districts” section. Please click on the “View All” option to reach the districts page. Here click on the applicable district to reach the official district page.
  5. Here click on the menu and sub option as “DIRECTORY / PUBLIC UTILITIES / Municipalities” to reach a page with required contact information for locating the respective authorities office. Also Please look for other menu and sub options as “ABOUT DISTRICT / Who’s Who”.
  6. Once the office contact is obtained, please visit the office with the document as specified in the Required Documents section of this page.
  7. Meet the respective authority at the office. Applicant shall get the advice from the authority to be followed in order to register.
  8. Collect the applicable application form or write on a plain A4 paper as per advice.
  9. Submit the completed application form along with required document as per our page.
  10. Authorities will check the submitted application and announce the fees / charges. Please pay and get the receipt.
  11. This application will be processed further.
  12. Once all the process are over and the license is ready, applicant gets notification from the department. Please follow the notification to get the license.



Note:
  1. It is advised to submit another set of copy of the documents and get counter signed for your safety while applying with government department..
  2. Visit your known pet owner in your area and consult with them for any latest update and requirements.

EligibilityEdit

  • Those who wanted to bring home a pet dog are eligible to apply.
  • Those who are 18 years and above are eligible to apply
  • Vaccination against Rabies is pre-requisite to obtain dog-license which is in interest of Public and animal Health.
  • Not more than 2 dogs per family are allowed

  • Get the details about approved breeds list from the municipal body for apartments.

  • Copy of vaccination card should indicate full name of owner, address and cell / contact number, name of the Doctor or organization / clinic of Doctor vaccinated the Pet animals. Also details of the vaccine like date of vaccination, name of vaccine , batch no and expiry date of vaccine and due date for same vaccination should be indicated.

  • As per the civic authorities of your local body, any individual who wanted to bring home a pet dog then it must be registered as per the norms.
  • The main motive to get a pet registered is to take preventive action on rabies and leptospirosis.

  • Dog- Badge is not issued along with License .
  • Photo of pet animal is attached on license, vaccination card and one photo retained with office as office copy.
  • Any registered dog is found straying shall be liable to be seized and kept at a place set for this purpose
