Procedure

Apply online through Gruha Jyoti

1. User shall use the following Link
2. In the given page, please click on the “Home light” button to reach a new page.
3. here please click on the “1. Click here to register for the Griha Jyoti Yojana” option to reach the online dashboard cum applying page.
4. Please complete the prompts as appropriate.
5. If the page authenticates OTP validation for Aadhaar, please use the Aadhaar registered mobile number to validate.
6. Once the required details are filled in, please click the check box for “I Agree” and then fill the captcha as per the image.
7. Finally hit the “Submit” button at the bottom to get a confirmation pop-up for successful submission of the online application.
8. Please click on the “Ok” button to get a page with details. Here user shall save it in .Pdf format or take a print as appropriate.

Apply In-Person through Seva Sindhu

1. The applicants can reach the seva sindhu kiosk and request for the online linking of Aadhaar with the respective electricity bill.
2. Please use the following link
3. In the given page, please click on the “SERVICE CENTRES” menu to get a list of contact details.
4. If the service is available, the operator will check the Aadhaar linked mobile number, Aadhaar and EB Bill. The operator will do the online process or will guide the applicants to perform the online linking option.
5. Please take their help and complete the process.
6. Please save the .Pdf file safe for future reference.
7. A SMS would be sent to the Aadhaar linked mobile.
8. It is advised to take the documents in original to the centre.

Instructions

• Please make sure to provide correct Aadhaar number.
• Do not submit fake documents as a proof.
• If it comes to the notice of the department at a later date that particulars given by an applicant are either wrong or contrary to truth, the consumer will be subjected to department enquiry and action will be taken.

Need for the Document

• Once the Aadhaar is linked with the electricity connection, it will be easy for the department to take accountability of the consumer.
• As per the respective state government electricity norms, the subsidy is provided for the selective segment of consumers as appropriate.
• The linking of Aadhaar with the respective electricity consumer number will be helpful in avoiding any subsidy being provided to fraudulent or consumers having more than one connection.

Information which might help

• The owners shall check with the electricity staff about linking tenants Aadhaar, in case the house owner is not residing there and has two houses in their name.
• The subsidy plans are not same across the states/UT’s of India.
