ProcedureEdit
- After purchasing a UAS/Drone and before operating it you will need to register the drone first. You will need to submit an application through the E-Services system General Civil Aviation Authority's (GCAA) website www.gcaa.gov.ae.
- You will need to submit these documents:
- Attach valid Passport Copy
- Attach valid Emirates ID Copy
- Attach UAS/Drone colored Photo
- The GCAA will review all documentation for registration process.
- It will take about 12 working days for your application to be processed.
- When the GCAA is satisfied that all the required information and submitted documents are in line with the requirements and are acceptable.
- Once your application is approved by the GCAA, you will receive an email alone with UAS/Drone Registration Certificate.
- Print the attached certificate, the certificate will be not valid unless it’s been stamped by the GCAA Licensing Department.

Terms and conditions:
- The organization shall ensure all drones are registered with the GCAA before intending to operate in the UAE
- The organization shall ensure no operations are conducted in the UAE without the GCAA ANA airspace user approval
- The organization shall ensure no operations are conducted in the UAE without the GCAA security approval
- The organization shall ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with the conditions/limitations stated by the GCAA
- The organization shall ensure no operations are conducted in the UAE without valid insurance coverage
- The organization shall ensure all drone operators are qualified for the intended operations and are registered with the GCAA
- The organization shall ensure that a risk assessment (e.g. weather, night/day, area of operations, safety to person on ground) is conducted prior to each flight.
- The organization shall ensure that any occurrence is reported to the GCAA
- The organization shall ensure that no flight jeopardizes safety, security and privacy to other airspace users, properties or persons
- The organization shall ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with the Civil Aviation, the GCAA publications and all other UAE government entities.
