Uganda - Validate a Motor Vehicle Details

ProcedureEdit

Online application:

  1. Before validating vehicle details, please note the following;
    • The old registration book (logbook) must be in your names.
    • You need to have the serial numbers of both plates.
  2. Then Visit the URA web portal link and Login to your TIN account using TIN and password
  3. Under e-services, click on Motor vehicle registration, select Add vehicle details from the extended menu. You can also use the instructions provided in the following link which can help you in completing the process : Instructions to Follow
  4. Fill in the required details in all the provided pages and submit application.
  5. Upon submission, you will get an e-acknowledgment receipt, scroll down the page, click print to get the receipt for tracking status of your application. And wait for the response from the Processing office.
  6. Upon approval, you will get feedback both on your registered email and received messages on your portal account for either approval or rejection notice within 2 working days

In person application:

  1. You can visit any of the URA branch office with all the required documents, approach the service desk and request for assistance on how to validate a motor vehicle details
  2. The attending official will then do a search on the URA computer system if all the information are in order you will be issued with the details on the particular motor vehicle immediately

Processing TimeEdit

  • URA will acknowledge receipt of your validation application ’Instantly’ upon submission of your validation application and will notify you about your application status within 2 working days after applying on the web portal.

  • Detail pertaining the motor vehicle (mode, make, origin, colour, etc.)
