ProcedureEdit

  1. To renew a private practice license, the applicant has to contact the Uganda Nurses and Midwife medical Council offices.
  2. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page or in the Uganda Nurses and Midwife Council's website.
  3. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
  4. On completion of this process, the Council will issue to the applicant a practicing license in the prescribed form within sixty days.
  5. Once you have a professional ID it will be stamped to indicate that you have renewed.
  6. Every after 3 years you need to renew your private practice Licence at Uganda Nurses and midwife medical council five days before the expire of the registration certificate.
  7. The Uganda Nurses and Midwives council may refuse to issue or may withdraw the registration certificate if the practitioner do not adhere to the professional standards set by the medical council.
  8. The Uganda Nurses and Midwives may withdraw a registration Certificate if the medical practitioner or establishment is not acting in accordance with set rules and regulations.
  9. Where Uganda Nurses and Midwives council refuses to issue a registration certificate, Council shall communicate in writing the reasons for refusal to issue the certificate to the establishment or applicant.

Note: If renewing for someone else it is helpful if you know their date of birth, training school and place of work.

  • Private practice book–which will be stamped
  • Original certificate or professional ID with photocopy of the certificate for all qualifications.
  • Show previous receipt.

FeesEdit

Fees for renewal of private license fee.

  • 50,000/= for Domiciliary Homes in hard to reach areas(Rural).
  • 60,000/= for Urban areas.
  • 65,000/= for Nursing homes in hard to reach areas(Rural)
  • 75,000/= for Urban areas

ValidityEdit

Private General nursing clinic and midwifery domiciliary clinic licenses are valid for three year and must be renewed by 31 March of each year.
