ProcedureEdit
- The completed application form together with the relevant documents indicated in the checklist should be submitted in person to the Registrar, National Drug Authority offices.
- Upon submission of the application documents, the applicant shall pay a non- refundable application fees as stipulated in the guidelines for issuance of wholesale dealers Licence or as may be prescribed by the Authority.
- Upon receipt of the duly filled application forms and documents, the same will be evaluated and the applicant advised in writing on whether the application was successful or not within 1 Month.

A person intending to carry out the business as a wholesale dealer in pharmaceuticals is required to have a valid Wholesale Dealers License.

InstructionsEdit
- Application for renewal of Licence will be made to the National Drug Authority Management information system in writing by filling the renewal form.
- The requisite forms for renewal are to be filled and application fees paid beginning Jan and not later than 10th December every year in order to facilitate timely processing of the licenses.
- The application for renewal is evaluated every time and the Authority shall not be obliged to renew the licenses except for applications which as per the prevailing conditions at the time of application still meet the requirements.
- All pharmaceutical outlets are expected to routinely destroy the expired drugs following the DNA procedure for destroying expired drugs.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- Pharmaceutical wholesale dealers license is issued by the NDAMIS and expires on the 10th day of December of the year it is issued and should be renewable annually.

Any application for renewal of licenses that is lodged later than 10th December will attract a penalty for late application and this will be in the form of a percentage of the standard application fees as may be prescribed by the Authority. Currently the penalty is 10% and is levied on a monthly incremental basis from January on wards.

- The Pharmacy business is regulated professional business under the National drug policy and Authority Act CAP 206 of the Laws of Uganda and regulation and certificate of suitability of premises.
- The Authority regulates the Practice of Pharmacy and the Manufacture and Trade in drugs and poisons.
- The Authority aims to implement the appropriate regulatory measures to achieve the highest standards of safety, efficacy and quality for all drugs, chemical substances and medical devices, locally manufactured, imported, exported, distributed, sold, or used, to ensure the protection of the consumer as envisaged by the laws regulating drugs in force in Uganda.
