Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. The first thing is to submit an application form for renewal of student pass and should be addressed to the Directorate of citizenship and immigration control supported with evidence of advised to live and study in Uganda for a specified period of time.Visit their website on the following link Directorate of immigration
2. The second thing is to attach the following documents on the application Form.
   • Copy of the expired student pass.
   • Copy of clearance to stay and live in Uganda (original).
   • a satisfactory Valid travel document (with a validity period of at least 6 months.
   • any other document as may be determined by the directorate of citizenship and immigration control.
   • a copy of the expiring student pass.
3. Submit the application form together with the required document and give an allowance of 15 -30 days the renewal will be done. Student pass should be issued upon satisfactory evaluation.
   • If there is any request for additional information for purposes of processing the application the immigration officer will put it in Writing;
   • And where it is satisfied that all the necessary requirements have been met, issue a letter of intent to the applicant advising the applicant to;
   • pay the Renewal student pass fee of Ugsh.300,000 to the directorate of citizenship and immigration control.
4. Upon fulfillment of the above requirements or otherwise the Directorate of citizenship and immigration control shall:
   • issue a New student pass to the applicant; or
   • inform the applicant in writing that the renewal application has been declined and advise the unsuccessful applicant that an appeal to the directorate of citizenship and immigration control for review of the decision to decline may be lodged within 30 days from the date thereof.

Required Documents

• Provide the name and full address, including telephone and email address of the applicant;
• Individual references relating to the fit and proper status of each of the applicants shareholders and directors
• The names and curriculum vitae of the applicant should be attached on the application form
• Particulars of the applicants should be attached on the application.
• A certified copy of the renewal of student pass.
• Student permit for non-Ugandan should be attached on the application form.
• Any other information that the directorate of citizenship and immigration control may request the applicant to provide.

Eligibility

• Any person who intends to renew a Student Pass , are eligible to make this application

Fees

• The applicant needs pay a renewable fee of US$60 in order to process a student pass.

Validity

• The Validity period for a renewed student pass is 1 year.

Need for the Document

• Students Pass (STP) holders whose student pass have expired and need renewal are required to apply for a new card in person within 14 days from the date of expiry .
