Apply Online:
Step 1
The applicant has to access Uganda Revenue Authority web portal on the following link Uganda Revenue Authority, enter user id (TIN) and password and click login.
Step 2
Check on the web portal dash board for an icon marked ‘E- registration’, click on it select the application. Under e-services, select E-Registration and then select“Register as Tax Agent”
Step 3
Select Tax Agent Registration Select Registration.
Step 4
Select Customs Agent, on e-communication Dash board
Step 5
Under Tax type details tick Import and Exports.
Step 6
Enter your Valid License number and the validity dates will auto populate and click ok.
Step 7
Click on submit button and the login credentials will be sent to both your mail and received messages on the portal.
Step 8
You will receive this message confirming receipt of your application.
Step 9
Check in your received messages for the login ID and password
Step 10
You will get your login Details in the message.
Step 12
Upon submission, an Acknowledgment receipt and a Payment registration receipt will be generated
Step 13
After making payments, submit the physical documents to any nearest URA Domestic Taxes office
Step 14
Upon submission, an Acknowledgment receipt and a Payment registration receipt will be generated.

- Proof of Payment of Tax agent Registration Fee
- Electronic copies of certificates, academic transcripts and course outlines, as required, to show you have completed the required qualifications.
- The Proof Permit to Operate as a Tax Agent
- Statement/s of relevant experience from a supervising tax agent or employer to demonstrate you have the required amount of experience.
- Details of voting Nominee from any recognized tax agent association, if applicable.

EligibilityEdit
Any person, whether natural or juridical, required under the authority of the Internal Revenue Code to register as Tax Agent make, render or file a return, statement or other documents, shall be supplied with or assigned a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) to be indicated in the return, statement or document to be filed with the Uganda Revenue Authority, for his/her proper identification for tax purposes.
- You must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible to apply.
- You must be a fit and proper person
- You must satisfy the qualification and experience requirements.
FeesEdit
- The application fee is 1,000,000.You must pay the application fee in full when you apply for registration.
ValidityEdit
- Valid for a period of 1 year.

- Select the preferred bank where you want to make the payment.

- To become a registered tax agent, individual applicants must satisfy certain qualifications and experience requirements, which are set out in the Tax Agent Services Regulations.
- Registered tax agents must undertake continuing professional education (CPE) that meets the requirements to be eligible to renew their registration.
