ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person

  1. To register as a Veterinary Specialist/ consultant, the applicant (Veterinary Surgeon) has to contact/visit college which he/she wishes to practice as a specialist and submit his request in writing in that institution.
  2. The Veterinary Surgeon has then to visit the Uganda Veterinary Board offices to make the application as a veterinary specialist/consultant.
  3. Here he/she will be issued with an Application for registration as a veterinary specialist to fill and submit.
  4. This form can be obtained from the UVB offices or it can also be downloaded from their website
  5. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful. A list of these documents can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page or at UVB registration requirements page.
  6. Submit the completed application form and required documents.
  7. Proceed to pay the appropriate fees and submit the payment receipt. The amount of fees to be paid can be found under the "Fees" section of this page or at UVB registration fees page.
  8. The Board shall contact the specialist college concerning the applicant and wait for their recommendation.
  9. Following a successful recommendation from the specialist college the board may make an approval of the application and issue the applicant with a certificate of registration.
  10. This process takes an average of 14 working days

  • Testimonials
  • Registration certificates and practice license as a veterinary surgeon.
  • A Filled in application for registration.
  • Paid application fee receipt.

Fees for registration

  • Application fees. 30,000
  • Veterinary Surgeon, Ugshs 100,000
  • Registration of veterinary specialist/Consultant Ugshs. 150,000
  • Inspection fees 80,000
  • Periodic inspection for registered clinics 80,000

The registration validity is valid for five years.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • A person registered by the Board as specialist or consultant shall use the titles with a client or colleague.
  • A person shall not hold himself or any other person as having expertise they cannot substantiate, or refer to himself or any other person as a ‘specialist’, where in doing so would be misleading or amount to misrepresentation
