Apply In-Person
- Application for a Coffee Dealers license (Commercial/ Grower) is done in person by visiting the Uganda Coffee Development Authority Head Offices or their field offices in the counties.
- Here you will be issued with Application for a Dealer’s License to fill and submit.
- Fill in the required information carefully and attached the required documents. These include:
- A certified copy of certificate of incorporation.
- A certified copy of memorandum and articles of association.
- A paid up share capital.
- Names of company directors, individual National ID/Passport Number,Tin Numbers and certificate of good conduct.
- Names and addresses of two business referees.
- Tax compliance certificate from Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) for the Company and Directors.
- Clearance letter from the Uganda Coffee Exchange (UCE).
- Compliance with Statutory requirements, including but not limited to NEMA certificate (where applicable) Safety & Occupational Health Certificate (where applicable) and Local Authority Business Permit.
- A valid performance bond of in favour of Coffee Directorate of Uganda.
- Proof of engaging the services of a coffee liquorer registered by the Directorate.
- Undertaking to furnish the Directorate with monthly returns.
- Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Directorate from time to time.
- If applicant is a registered business, the certificate of registration and particulars of the proprietors.
- submit the completed application form,pay the required application fee and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
- This is followed by an inspection of applicants by the Authority field Officers
- The Authority field officers will make recommendations on the application and forward their report forwarded to Authority’s Headquarters for the ultimate Board approval.
- Upon a successful approval by the board a list of approved coffee dealers is published in the Uganda gazette.
- At this point the applicant is notified and he/she will be required to pay the respective license fee to the board and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
- Once the license processing is done the Coffee Dealer/Trader License is issued to the applicant of license by the Managing Director of the Uganda Coffee Development Authority.

EligibilityEdit
Any person, cooperative society, group or company who wants to buy coffee at the Exchange or to import coffee in Uganda is eligible to make this application.
FeesEdit
Licence fees: 500,000Ugshs.
ValidityEdit
The license is valid for a period of one year.

Need for the DocumentEdit
No person can deal/trade in coffee unless he is the holder of a current license issued in respect thereof by the Authority after consultation with the Authority.

- A Coffee Dealers License is a license authorizing the holder to buy or deal in clean coffee produced in Uganda or to import clean coffee from outside Uganda and to process in Uganda for sale or export coffee to any country of origin and deal in roasting, blending and packaging coffee for local sale or export.
Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit
