Procedure

1. To register the death, informants must go to the local civil registry office at the place where the death occurred or where the corpse was found.
2. Informants or declarants will be asked to make an oral declaration about the death.
3. They will be also asked to present a valid identification document.
4. Once the death is registered in the books, the Local Registrar will issue the death certificate.

Instructions

The death must be registered with the local Civil Registry Office within 48 hours, at the place where the death occurred or where the corpse was found.

The deadline may be extended up to 90 days by the Civil Registry Office.
