Philippines - Online Register Utility Model

STEP 1: Here’s how you can register a utility model online. To know more about the procedure and the documents you will need to submit when you apply for the procedure, please check out this link : Required Documents – Utility Model Registration.
STEP 2: To start your application, click this link – IPOPHL Utility Model Electronic Filing System. Click the “APPLY FOR UTILITY MODEL ONLINE” text (Highlighted in GREEN box).

STEP 3: On the page shown below, you will be asked to enter a title for the utility model you are applying for on the space highlighted in GREEN. You will also need to indicate in which category your application falls under.

STEP 4: After completing the form, click the “NEXT” button (Highlighted in PURPLE box).

STEP 5: Next, you will need to complete the applicant, maker, and agent form. First, complete the information regarding the applicant. To do this, click the “+ Add Applicant” button (Highlighted in GREEN).

STEP 6: After you have completed the applicant information form, click the “Save” button (Highlighted in YELLOW box).

STEP 7: Next, complete the maker information form. Click the “+ Add Maker” button (Highlighted in GREEN). Once you have completed the form, click the “Save” button (Highlighted in RED box).

STEP 8: After saving the information, the page will look like the one shown below. If there is more than one applicant or maker, just click the “+ Add Applicant” or “+ Add Maker” buttons again (Encircled in RED).

STEP 9: In case the application is being filed by an agent or representative, the agent/representative information form must also be completed. Just click the “+ Add Agent” button (Encircled in RED). Once you are done with the forms, click the “NEXT” button (Highlighted in GREEN box).

STEP 10: The next part of the application process is documentation. You will need to upload the required files in PDF form. All drawings must be compiled in one PDF file. To upload your file, click the “Upload File” button (Highlighted in RED box). When you have uploaded all the required files, click the “NEXT” button (Highlighted in PURPLE box) to move on to the next step.

STEP 11: Shown below is the fees computation page. You will need to tick the boxes that corresponds to the specifics of your application so that the system can generate the total application fee.

STEP 12: When the total amount to be paid is generated click the “NEXT” button (Highlighted in PURPLE box).

STEP 13: This is the information review page. Here you can see all the information you have entered earlier and the total amount that you will need to pay. Carefully review your application and make sure that all information shown are correct.

STEP 14: After you have reviewed your application, click the “NEXT” button (Highlighted in GREEN box).

STEP 15: This is the payment details page. Enter the name of the payor and any additional info about the payor. As for the payment mode, you may choose to pay via DragonPay or DBP VISA. After completing the form, click the “SUBMIT” button (Highlighted in GREEN).

STEP 16: Instructions on how you can complete your payment will be sent to your email. After you have completed the payment process, an electronic copy of the Statement of Account (SOA) and PDF copy of the application form will be sent to your email account or your agent in real time to confirm completion of transaction.
STEP 17: Your application will be examined by IPOPHL. The Office will also publish your application for 30 days.
STEP 18: Once approved, a Certificate of Registration will be issued to you. Also, the IPOPHL will publish the newly registered UM to inform the public.
