Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. A contract car license is required for a public service vehicle (PSV) to provide transportation services under a contract, often with hotels, tour operators, or travel agencies.
2. Those who are in need of contract car license shall make sure that they have new vehicle or relatively new vehicles (less than 2 years old). Please check our eligibility section for details.
3. The applicant shall visit the respective “National Land Transport Authority (NLTA)” office.

6. We have given out the possible available information but, it is advised that, While visiting the office make sure you get all the updated applying information along with the application form and fee details.
7. Also the authorities may provide you schedules upon your request for applying.
8. Please complete the application form and attach all the relevant documents as advised.
9. On the scheduled date, the applicant shall visit the department office and submit the application set at the counter as applicable.
10. The applicants shall follow the guidelines of the authorities. The submitted application set will be checked for the check list of papers. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
11. The applicant will be explained about the fees and charges. Also, the applicant shall pay the application fees as notified.
12. Please remit and get the receipt. Keep it safe for future reference.
13. The authority will advise the applicant about the next set of activities.
14. The submitted application will be processed by the department. The department will notify the applicant for paying any other charges.
15. Please pay as instructed to get the license.
16. The requirement of documents and fess involved will vary depending on the license request.

  • National Identity Card (Original + 1 copy)
  • Birth Certificate (Original + 1 copy)
  • Marriage Certificate – applicable for married woman only (Original + 1 copy)

• For Company
  • Certificate of Incorporation (Original + 1 copy)

• Other documents
  • A recommendation from a Hotel, Tour Operator or Travel Agency to support the application.
  • A feasibility report on the project.
  • Rough sketch showing the exact location of the base of operation.

Eligibility

• Citizens who are 18 years and above are eligible to apply.
• Applicant representing a Company should not be a public officer working in any Government or Parastatal Department.
• As far as the other eligibility criteria, please follow the department guidelines.
