Existence of HUF:

  1. Ensure that there is a Hindu Undivided Family in existence. HUF is a specific form of family structure recognized under Hindu law.



Creation of HUF:

  1. HUF comes into existence automatically by the operation of Hindu Law, and no formal procedure is required for its creation.



Opening HUF Bank Account:

  1. To Register a Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), the applicant has to approach the nearby bank.
  2. Most banks have specific account types for HUFs.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the bank officer.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting
  7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  10. Also, prepare a declaration of the HUF. While this is not a formal application process, it is a crucial step in recognizing the creation of the HUF.
  11. This document can be maintained for reference and record-keeping purposes.
  12. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  13. For further process, the applicant has to reach out to the bank on the given date.



Registration of PAN

  1. The applicant has to apply for a separate PAN (Permanent Account Number) for the HUF.

  3. Ensure compliance with income tax laws by filing separate tax returns for the HUF.
