Jamaica - Online Register As an Entertainment Practitioner

Step 1 : First one has to make sure that all the required documents are in hand to apply online. If you would like to know about the documents that are required for this procedure, please visit the following link : Required Documents to Register As an Entertainment Practitioner

Step 2 : You can also complete the application form online through the MCGES’s Entertainment Registry (E-Registry) by visiting their website: Apply Online.

Step 3 : In the information bar, select “Registration” which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image to be directed to the registration page.

Step 4 : Read the provided information and choose to apply for “individual Entertainment Practitioner” as an “Entertainment Company”.If you want to register as an “individual Entertainment Practitioner” click on the “click here” hypertext which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 5 : If you want to register as an “Entertainment Company” click on the “click here” hypertext which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image.

Step 6 : That is if you choose to register as an individual, you will complete this online form: Apply Online.

Step 7 : Complete the “Personal Info” section and atlast “Choose ID Type” dropdown button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image to choose ID of your choice.

Step 8 : After choosing ID, complete the required information and upload the required documents and then click on the “Next” Button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 9 : Now “Contact Info” Section will be opened enter all the required information.

Step 10 : After completing Contact Information click on the “Next” Button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 11 : In the Next page enter all your Professional Details and then click on the “Next” Button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 12 : After filling the form put a tick mark for the verification “I’m not a robot” which is pointed out by a “Red” arrow as shown and select “Yes” which is pointed out by a “Green” arrow in the below image to declare that the above information is true.

Step 13 : Enter Your Name and Next a “Signature?” dropdown box will be visible if you want to Upload click on “Upload” Which is pointed out by a “Red” arrow and if you want to Sign select “Sign” Which is pointed out by a “Green” arrow in the below image.

Step 14 : If you choose to Upload click on the “Choose File” Button which is highlighted in “Green” to Upload your signature and then click on the “Preview Answers” Tab which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 15 : If you choose to “Sign” Sign it digitally in the box which is highlighted in “Red” to sign and then click on the “Preview Answers” Tab which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image.

Step 16 : Now if you want to print click on the “Print” Button which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image to Print the Application Form or click on the “Submit” button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 17 : If you need to register as a company you will need to complete the Application form : Apply Online.

Step 18 : After filling the form put a tick mark for the verification “I’m not a robot” which is pointed out by a “Red” arrow and select “Yes” which is pointed out by a “Green” arrow in the below image to declare that the above information is true.

Step 19 : Enter Your Name and upload the required documets.Next a “Signature?” dropdown box will be visible if you want to Upload click on “Upload” Which is pointed out by a “Red” arrow and if you want to Sign select “Sign” Which is pointed out by a “Green” arrow in the below image.

Step 20 : If you choose to Upload click on the “Choose File” Button which is highlighted in “Green” to Upload your signature and then click on the “Preview Answers” Tab which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 21 : If you choose to “Sign” Sign it digitally in the box which is highlighted in “Red” to sign and then click on the “Preview Answers” Tab which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image.

Step 22 : Now if you want to print click on the “Print” Button which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image to Print the Application Form or click on the “Submit” button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.

Step 23 : After the form/s and all the required supporting documents have been completed, signed, stamped, and certified where required, scan all the three signed copies of the documents and submit them to the MCGES’s Entertainment Registry via their email address: registry@mcges.gov.jm or in person at the MCGES office. Note that all requests should be addressed to the Permanent Secretary.

Step 24 : Upon receipt of the application, MCGES will assess the application and the submitted documents to determine if the application is complete.

Step 25 : The MCGES together with JAMPRO will verify your application to ensure that it is a bona fide operation and that you are involved in the prescribed entertainment activity.

Step 26 : After the verification process, MCGES will conduct a joint visit of the facility of your operation with the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO).

Step 27 : Then they will prepare a formal report regarding your application and send it to the Ministry for review.

Step 28 : The ministry will then forward the application to these agencies for their records and approval: Then Incentives Unit of Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) and The Legal Support Division of Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ).

Step 29 : Then you will be informed of the status of the application. If it is rejected or approved.

Step 30 : Upon the final determination and the application is approved, the JCA will enter your information into the Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) platform.

Step 31 : Finally, MCGES will notify you that your Entertainment Practitioner/Producer Status has been approved and you will be issued a written notification of your Entertainment Practitioner/Producer Status and you will be able to gain access to incentive benefits related to the entertainment/creative industries sector.
